Dr Gallagher is an excellent physician! I have been her patient for several years. She has helped our family through some very difficult situations. It is overwhelming to locate good psychiatric care, but I have found it with Dr Gallagher. Yes, her office & close he’s are outdated, but who cares? She is kind, knowledgeable & dedicated to working with her patients to find solutions for their distressing medical issues.

Dr. Gallagher demonstrates a high level degree of unprofessionalism. I have seen her on 2 occasions. The 1st time she was unkempt with hair in disarray and clothing that should have been mothballed in the early 1970s. I am not trying to be rude however when you get an impression of the service you will receive based upon your initial viewing. I thought she was suffering from a physiological, medical, or substance related issue bc she was so disshelved. Professionals look more put together. She was sent records a month in advance yet appeared unprepared for the appointment. None to my surprise she diagnosed me with conditions no longer recogniged in the cuttent DSM. I had at least 5 other Consults and none of the other licensed examiners agreed with her opinion. Unfortunately she has not recieved appropriate continuing education so she thought my medical condition was psycho- somatic although a legitimate medication condition . I am not advocating age discrimination however sometimes individuals are too mentally or physically frail to hold themselves out as professionals. Did see Dr Gallagher a 2nd time for an IME. I had a scheduled appointment for which I waited 2 hours while she corralled her regular patients in during the time scheduled for my appoitment. During the 2hours it felt as though close to 20 folkscame thru like an assembly line. To be fair Dr Gallagher apoeared groomed at the 2nd appointment. Although the clothes were still dated it looked like she really made an effort to clean herself up. I know the signs of distress bc outward signs of appearance can demonstrate something is very wrong. Would recommend that entities needing objective IME steer clear of this individual.

I HAVE FOUND DR.GALLAGHER TO BE CARING AND KIND. I HAVE RECENTLY BEEN IN CRISIS AGAIN, AND SHE HAS BEEN VERY ACTIVE IN PULLING ME OUT OF IT. SHE KNEW WHAT TO DO AND TOOK ACTION IMMEDIATELY. READING SOME OF THESE OTHER REVIEWS MAKES ME SAD. THEY SOUND LIKE THE REALLY BAD DRS. I STARTED OUT WITH 10+ YRS. AGO WHO DID NOTHING FOR ME AND MADE MY SITUATION WORSE - NOT DR. GALLAGHER. I DON'T NEED A DRESSED UP OFFICE - I JUST WANT A GREAT DR. AND SHE IS A GREAT DOCTOR!!!!

Dr. Gallagher has treated me for anxiety and depression for the last eight years. I am really puzzled by some of the other reviews, since I have always found her to be professional, on top of the issues and details of my case, and insightful. Her questions are spot on. If she is ever running behind she is very apologetic, and has never rushed me through an appointment. I have never seen her in a state of agitation. It is true the office is lacking in updated decor, and she does not have support staff, but those are not things that matter to me.

I am a retired Ohio State Trooper that was sent to see Marjorie Gallagher in 2005. I was on leave for depression and retired on disability at the suggestion of my union. Dr. Gallagher labelled me as 'bipolar', in less than a 1/2 hour session. She never even gave me any tests such as a MMPI. My disability retirement is based on her opinion. The Ohio State Patrol Retirement System sends me back to her every (2) years because they get notice from my doctors that I'm not disabled. They're not smart enough to realize she can't alter her opinion since she never collects physical data, and therefore wastes retirees money sending me. Every time I go she asks me to remember "rose, mist & 1776", name 5 rivers, count backwards from 100, and name previous presidents. This woman is clueless. She was obviously the lowest bidder for the states contract. The state can pay me to be retired. But if you need a good psychologist, she's definitely not it. Others are accurate about her poor professionalism.

Have been seeing her for many years. You are right; she no longer has ofice staff except billing. The office and Dr could both use a make-over. Ihave found her to be caring and knowledgeable.

I hope that my review will save someone else from making a terrible mistake. Her profile says she has been in practice for 37 years & it shows. It is apparent the minute you walk in the door. There is no one to greet you. When she finally opened the door (she was over an hour late), she didn't even crack a smile. EVERYTHING, from furniture and drapes, was outdated, faded & unappealing. The only modern item was the computer she seemed fixated on. Her questions were all over the place & although I was there for an evaluation, she asked many questions which weren't relevant (repeated questions about my sex life, beginning with masturbation). She became agitated if I didn't instantly answer her questions, so she kept telling me to "skip it!". After I received a copy of her report, there were excessive mistakes: things I didn't say, things I never did-I honestly thought I was reading something about someone else! Please look elsewhere for a doctor!
