My son has been a patient of Dr. Weiss's for about 7 years. The comments below about long waiting times are correct; waiting times have varied, and some have been very long-- but in fairness, I have had long waiting times at my primary care doctor's office too sometimes. The staff has always been extremely helpful and returns calls as quickly as possible-- within a couple of days I get responses to my called-in questions, and they have always followed up. I really like the staff. It is true that Dr. Weiss talks about himself a lot, but that is partly a way of helping patients see others' experiences, or a means of getting a jumping-off point into discussion of a patient's particular problem, by way of giving examples of his own problems or experiences. Of course it is legitimate for a patient to seek a doctor with a different style if that's what works for them. Overall, Dr. Weiss has a very gentle manner and over the years that has been good for my son with Aspergers. And yes, if you cancel with less than 48 hours' notice, you will be billed for missed appointments. This has been tough for us. But again, other practitioners have similar policies. Even the guy who waxes my eyebrows has a policy like that.

Dr. Weiss likes to talk about himself... A LOT. You WILL sit in the waiting room for at least 45 minutes, even if you are the FIRST appointment of the day. The office opens at 10 but he never arrives before, at least, 10:30, if you're lucky. He has a God complex and I was not pleased.

A nice supportive doctor but always late (really late--like give yourself and your children an extra hour at least) no consistent staff, lots of extra charges and no bathroom! I like him a lot but find the practice quite frustrating.

Dr Weiss is the most wonderful dr I've ever had or my son, with Asperger Syndrome, has had as well. He is 25 yrs old, and was diagnosed at age three. We have been through several drs and none could compare to him. Any wait is only an indication that he is caring enough to not stop you abrubtly when making progress or discussing medications. Beyond his field, I've yet to find any dr with his caring, compassionate and sincere concern. HE EVEN CALLED TO CHECK ON MY SON AT HOME! Who does that?!!! Trying to converse with my son, he brought in board games, had him bring in his interests, played his banjo,;?anything to make a connection. My prior dr experience was always what meds were needed and out the door.
His staff is very kind and understanding and the atmosphere is very peaceful and non-clinical which is relaxing and refreshing . They even have a side area for children w toys. I can't imagine anything negative being said! If you miss an appt, every Dr is charging a fee . Dr Weiss has waved the fee before when we've had an emergency butvif I cancel ,before the time permitted, it's worth every penny to stay a patient. My son always hated going to any dr but looks forward to Dr Weiss. HE IS THE BEST! There is no Dr like him and we are grateful we were given a referral....It has been nothing but POSITIVE since 2011 when we started! I can't say enough about the distinct difference in him compared to every other terrible experience we've had. HE IS AMAZING, worth every penny, and the nearly hour drive. My son has progressed and He is the difference!!!!!!!!

While my patient experiences with Dr. Weiss were excellent (never rushed, bullied, or talked down to), his business practices leave much to be desired. I canceled an appointment the day before my appointment, and had a $ 80 fee billed to my house within 2 weeks. Subsequently, I tried on many occasions within the next month and a half to reschedule prior to a prolonged business trip across the country, with no luck. I called every hour on the hour at times, and left a minimum of 5 messages, and only got someone on the phone twice within that 1.5 months. While on that trip and subsequently out of medication, I was told l that I was out of luck due to the nature of the prescriptions I take and prescribing practices that they require, which as a pharmacist who has been on these medications for 5 years, was completely, 100% unfounded in actual fact. I'm shocked that a doctor, with a office as well appearing as Alkire, could be so inconsiderate.

Extremely long wait times and passive aggression await in Dr. Weiss' office! Seek help elsewhere.

Bestest ever, concerned, engaging, people person, good bed side manners, professional, new place very relaxing, spa like, just be glad you get in to see him, as most only see adolescents, so you have to be an adult adolescent which I think we most are, well some times, he truly believes in quality of life, and if something is working, then whats important quality of life, we are all looking for the magic fix, I would highly recommend Dr. Weiss as he is entrusted with my quality of life, and it's been great. Give him a chance this type of treatment takes time. I've been seeing him for about 2 years and have no complaints whatsoever. thank you!

Dr. Weiss has been my daughters doctor for about 3 yrs now and we quite like him. We have only had to wait a couple of times for a long time. The staff has been very rude multiple of times. But that is not his fault. The only complaints I have about him is that he tends to use big words. Im ok with that but my kid has no clue what he means. Other than that he has been good. Our visits only last about 10-15 min. But considering that my daughter and I both dislike going to appts in general, we are cool with that and if we ever have any questions he always takes the time to answer.

Dr. Weiss is AMAZING! Part of the reason that I have never stuck with medication or another doctor is because I have never felt like I clicked with any other doctor. Dr. Weiss takes an active interest in his patients lives and I always feel like I get quality personal attention at each appointment. I actually look forward to my sessions with Dr. Weiss because he is such an interesting and engaging person. Unlike other doctors that I have worked with I feel like I take an active part in determining what medications i'm taking and when I feel comfortable increasing dose etc. In regards to negative reviews about Dr. Weiss, I would like to comment that ANY doctors office typically has a wait. Unlike other doctors you could chose, I would definitely wait to see Dr. Weiss rather than waiting to see a doctor who doesn't genuinely care about my care.

I have found Dr. Weiss to be an absolutely wonderful and thoughtful physician. I see him for meds and therapy. Sometimes he runs behind with other patients but he never rushes me out the door because of it. In comparison to other docs I've seen who only spend the (insurance mandated)15-30 min. med check, Dr. Weiss takes the time to talk to you in order to get a thorough understanding of what's going on in your life. I am glad he left Pinnacle, their vibe was all wrong.
