One of the worst experiences in my life. This man ruined my life for 3 weeks due to his negligence. I went for a check-up and he saw a crack in one of my fillings. I had no symptoms but he insisted that a crown was needed. I thought that a filling will be enough but he and his assistant were pushing for putting a crown on the tooth. So I accepted it. That decision was one of the worse decisions in my life. He put a temporary crown, which fell off on Friday. This guy doesn't have emergency services, so I have to be the whole weekend on my own with no tooth, so I had to learn how to put it back, looking at youTube videos. On Monday I went there, he said that I did a good job and left it there. The next day, it fell off again. Went back and they put it back, saying it was going to be ok. The guy left for holidays so I had to wait until he came back to place the permanent one. That is ridiculous as they had another dentist who could have put it while he was on vacation. After he came back, he put on the permanent crown. He said he was going to be very sensitive for a while and then it would get better. I waited for 3 weeks or so and called back because I still had sensitivity issues. After taking an X-ray, he said I had an infection, an abscess, and a fistula, and all of those were my fault because I should have put a crown on the tooth 2 years ago. Then he gave me antibiotics and transferred me to an endodontist in Dothan to do a root canal. Dr. Backmond said that needed to be done. Of course, he did not take any responsibility, blaming me for it. It gets funnier. I took the antibiotics and went to see another dentist, as I was already upset enough with this unprofessional doctor. Another dentist looked at the X-ray took another one and looked at the fistulas and said I had no infection, I didn't need to take antibiotics and those fistulas were just bones. He also asked me why I needed a crown in the first place. By looking at the other teeth he sounded surprised. However, he said that if the sensitivity doesn't go away, a root canal would be needed. So all the stress of having an abscess, fistulas, and antibiotics taking for nothing. I went to the endodontist to see if a root canal was needed to remove the sensitivity. He said that I had the option to wait because there was a chance that sensitivity could improve on its own. I asked him: I you were e would you wait? He said: yes.
So, Blackmond, the general dentist put a crown, when I feel a filling could have been ok, put me under a lot of stress, because he did not have emergency service when I needed it, he misdiagnosed an infection, gave me antibiotics told me I had an abscess when that is dangerous and all the time that passed until I got another appointment, I was very worried about that. Maybe if you go to him, he can do a decent job, but I do not doubt that he is not a good dentist, a mediocre one, who does not seem to care and just want the money. He is neither willing to accept any responsibility. I would not take a chance with this person. He is very unprofessional in my opinion.
