Dr. Ernst did my LASIK surgery a few years ago. I was very nervous, but it was a breeze. From initial consult to post-op, I had a great experience. I am now glasses free with 20/15 and 20/20 vision!

Went to him for iol replacement after 1st botched surgery, left with wrong prescription and dysphotopsia. He said no problem. After surgery I saw the lens edge in the center of my eye. Tried to tell him and he refused to believe me. Outside of my eye vision was blurred. He said he doesn't make mistakes. I had to travel to another state to find someone to fix his mistake.

Took my mother to have her cataracts done. Apparently, Dr Ernst does many cataracts on Mondays. I know this because I asked the receptionist, who stated that most Mondays they do 25 or more patients. No wonder we felt rushed through like cattle. It seems to me that Dr Ernst cares more about his wallet than patient safety or compassion. I'm a nurse so I'm hyper-aware of these things. I had never met the doctor before taking my mom that day, but I certainly would've had reservations had I met him beforehand.

Biography

Brett B. Ernst, M.D., is president and ophthalmologist at Schein Ernst Mishra Eye in Harrisburg, Pa. He is a graduate of Wayne State Medical School. He completed his ophthalmology residency at the Cleveland Clinic and is a board certified ophthalmologist. He moved to Harrisburg with his wife Mariann and daughters Alexandra and Victoria in 1993. Dr. Ernst is Chief of Ophthalmology for Pinnacle Health Systems and is also assistant clinical professor at Penn State University School of Medicine. Dr. Ernst is a member of the Pennsylvania Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Academy of Ophthalmology and a Fellow of the American Society of Cataract Surgeons. Dr. Ernst has been named a Top 50 Surgeon by Sightpath Medical.
