Before one minute has passed, Dr. Pino said jokingly, "I first look at a patient and decide where to place my knife!" My primary sent me to him, and he failed to review my chart that said surgery is not an option. He chatted me up, asking personal questions, and then handed me several print-offs that I could have retrieved off the internet. He then told me to continue to do the things I explained first thing I had been doing in terms of PT. I received a bill for $350.00 a month later. ZERO bedside manner and a serious lack of authentic "patient care." I emailed the business office about my concern that I did not receive $350 worth of care and we went back and forth, never connecting because they are only available via phone M-F during business hours when I am not available. I DO NOT RECOMMEND DR. PINO OR KAISER PERMANENTE.

Dr Pino is an excellent doctor & surgeon. I've been under his care for years. Highly educated and always has been a caring doctor.

Dr. Pino is, I think, a better surgeon than he is patient, informative or a good listener. He tends to be brusque and easily put off by "stupid" questions, all of which makes him come across as somewhat dismissive and uncaring, and rude. He did not come into the recovery room to see how I was faring or to answer questions. He seems comfortable with an arm's-length approach. Be persistent and rude yourself if that's what it takes to get his attention (and respect?) because his work is, I think, worth the effort.
