I went to Dr McLaughlin about 3 years ago with post menopause issues. Mood swings, night sweats, low lipido, tiredness, etc. He advised getting a pellet which I did. It helped a lot. I felt so much better I encouraged 2 of my friends to go with similar symptoms. They also got pellets. After a few months all three of us ( at different times) began having severe bleeding . Christi blamed it on the progesterone and changed 2 of us to megestrol. It helped for a while. My 2 friends continued to bleed and went to other drs. They both ended up having to have D & C’s and eventually hysterectomys. I have had a D&C and might be facing a hysterectomy. My Dr now said that my estrogen got way too high which has caused all the problems. Obviously my and my friends hormone levels were allowed to get too high by Dr McLaughlin and his
staff. My Dr also said that Megestrol increases your appetite. Since being off of it for several months and being on estrogen detox I have lost 10 pounds. Increased estrogen causes weight gain and puffiness as well. I still think pellets can be good if your levels are monitored closely and not allowed to get too high! Mine was dangerously high according to my new dr. It’s more than coincidence that all 3 of us had major issues!

Dr. Mac and his staff are THE BEST! I was so impressed with his knowledge. He knew about every infertility treatment I read about on the internet/infertility blogs. He either already incorportated the treatment, or he had a good reason why he didn't. He was so thorough, and his IVF plan is the best. It starts 90 days out and treats both the male and female partner. He thinks of EVERYTHING! I love Dr. Mac, and our 22 month old IVF baby is proof of his greatness!
