Despite the mixed reviews, I tried this practice as they are known for, supposedly, being holistic. I've had issues now, and I'm seriously searching for another practitioner.

1. They don't have after hours service. If your child gets sick, you can't call your doctor, you have to go to a strange doctor either at an urgent care or the ER. This is the first practice I've EVER been with that did not provide this for their patients.

2. Even if you are on medication that is not restricted, you have to go in personally for refills. Woe to those who run out before it's time for another appointment. I'm sometimes told to come in after three months, sometimes after 6. I'm never given enough refills for more than three months.

3. This was the issue that broke the camels back. We took my daughter in because she hurt her foot. Her normal physician, Dr. Amin, was not there, so she saw a nurse practitioner. Even though in the office, both she and my husband (who physically took her) said it was her foot, the order for the x rays was for her ankle. A full third of her foot is missing because they focused on the ankle instead of the foot.

When I called, we were told it was our fault, that we should have looked at the order and said no it wasn't right. Neither my husband nor I are medical professionals. He trusted the doctor to write the order properly and told the office that he does not have the medical training to confidently interpret any order given. Despite that, we are told that it's our fault and now we're going to have to have more x-rays done, which we are going to have to pay for out of our own pockets because of the provider's incompetence (It was a nurse practitioner, I believe her name was Gina).

When I spoke to the office manager, she was very polite the entire time, despite the fact that I was very upset. There was something missing, though - sympathy and empathy. There was nothing. When I told her that she was being polite, I felt like she didn't care, she said this, "I'm sorry you feel that way."

That is not an apology. That is basically her brushing off my feelings and concern. I'm so very, very disappointed by this practice. Stay far, far away.

Addendum: I spoke with the co-owner on the phone (he refused to share the name of the other co-owner) for 45 minutes. He said he would look into it and make sure that they addressed it in a professional manner. He was sorry about it.

Sorry does not do anything for the fact that we will now have to go and get ANOTHER set of x-rays which, while one of the cheapest imaging options, still cost money. I asked what would happen if they found that the practice was in the wrong, and basically was told that it would only be an 'I'm sorry'. No offer to reimburse for any medical costs due to their incompetence. Please avoid this practice.

Addendum: I had an appointment already scheduled on Wednesday to follow up on my bloodwork (which was done by Dr. Amin, not the practitioner who dealt with my daughter's injury) and now the co-owner is saying he is going to cancel all my appointments (after hours so I can't call and do anything about it and he knows I'm going to be out of town all day the next day). I did NOT authorize this. I HAVE to have that appointment because I have to go over the results of the bloodwork and get refills for my medicine. So here he is also assuming something that he shouldn't be. I had even told him over the phone NOT to cancel my appointments. Be warned!

Staff is unfriendly. Rarely get the doc but her PA or NP. Even when you get to see the doc, she rushes in and out in minutes.

She is usually very rushed. Only goes over bloodwork. Doesn't treat the whole person.

The Dr. V team is available six days a week. They are very helpful with TRICARE, which is important to active duty, Reserve/National Guard, retirees, and our families. She has served where we have. Special care is given through aligning care to your blood type. I highly recommend Dr. V and her team.

I have to say I REALLY REALLY wanted to love this practice. I love Dr. Weil, I love holistic treatment but I always feel like I'm at an express lube in and out in under 20 minutes from walk in to walk out, and that only includes maybe 5-10 actual Doctor time minutes. Every time I go there I get like three new recommendations for books I should buy and diets I should be following, and I don't feel that same doctor/patient relationship that needs to form to feel comfortable trusting your LIFE to a person. They have never sought to get to know me or my records as a patient to see where I've come from and I most often just feel judged when I go there. I really miss my previous docs --- relocation and distance preclude me from being able to see her. I travel a long way to see Doc V and really wanted to feel like I had found my new GP . On the plus side, they do order the labs that need to be checked and aren't shy about asking for what needs to be done so that's a good thing.

I am a fairly new patient (started 03/2014), here are my likes and dislikes (please read dislikes below the "likes"): LIKES: Dr V's passion for helping her patients get healthy the natural way. She'll prescribe drugs if needed, but she's got a wealth of knowledge in using natural things instead. Food is medicine. LIKE: The blood tests that she requests. I hate getting blood drawn, but was fascinated to find out the minerals, vitamins, etc., that I was lacking, due to the type of tests she ordered for me. LIKE: The office is clean, relaxing, and peaceful. LIKE: the list of books Dr V recommends, with the exception of one which is not based on scientific facts Eat Right for your Blood Type. LIKE: the print outs that she gives me with the blood results and recommendations to get vitamins/minerals etc. balanced out for better health. LIKE: Dr V is my very favorite doctor I've had in 50 years! LIKE: The consistent recommendation to avoid preservatives, colors, additives, fillers, refined sugar and flour. DISLIKE: The short period of time in the examination room. I feel rushed every time I go there. DISLIKE: The cold mannerisms of the receptionists (usually 2 sitting there) when patients walk through the front door of the office, and the receptionist at the exit is curt. They could use a lot more smiles at their front desk! DISLIKE: The "Blood Type Diet" pamphlet. I spent hours and hours investigating the truth & myths of this diet...it does not measure up. Sadly, even Dr V's assistants say they don't believe in it. My daughter had the same experience when she went to Dr V's, the assistants told her "None of us really do that diet." Okay, that's enough "dislikes." The LIKES far outweigh the DISLIKES.

Since opening a new office, this practice is all about the fifteen minute in and out visit. They could care less about the patients. They will send you for labs often and happily bill your insurance, but will spend little time explaining your health issues. You will however leave with a plethora of supplements to purchase. The pharmacist is more helpful. Fed up and finding a doc who cares!

Dr. V. has a great personality and bedside manner. However, she is very holistically oriented...a bit too much so. I think she would make a fine doctor for someone young, healthy, and open to alternative treatments. I am very open mind about alternative medicine, however, if you have serious health issues, I think you would be better off with a traditional internist. Dr. V. made some recommendations to me that have no scientific basis whatsoever. She has a small network of alternative practitioners, not covered by insurance, that she refers her patients to (e.g., energy medicine, naturopathic nutritionists, and chiropractors, etc.). I could not agree with her recommendation to adhere to the "Eat Right for Your Type" diet (based on your blood type). This diet has absolutely no scientific backing and has been debunked by the scientific community. Just be sure to do your own research about these types of things.
