I think the negative rating of the other person here may have had more to do with the new UCSF scheduling policies rather than Dr. Deshpande. I have been going to Dr. Deshpande for several years and have been very happy with her bedside manner and service. I was tired of getting residents at UCSF and wanted a long-term doctor when I selected her. I have been very happy - she is thorough and patient in going through my list of items, and refills my perscriptions by phoen when needed. The only drawback is that the office sometimes has some funky scheduling rules - so you have to make sure they schedule enough time for your needs and that you come in with your list at the beginning, so she knows what she needs to cover in the time. Although the office schedules her time tightly, she's usually on time - so if you're organized and up-front about your needs, you'll get good service. I highly recommend her.

Dr. Deshpande is the best doctor I have ever seen. She is warm and relates to her patients as real persons. She gives referrals and prescriptions without a fuss. She doesn't have the arrogant attitude that some Doctors have, Visiting her is like visiting a good friend you can confide in. She really goes above and beyond, doing all she can to make sure that you receive the proper care. If your problem is beyond her expertise, she will help you find another clinic where you can be treated. I am so appreciative to have found Dr. Deshpande as my primary doctor. Every time I leave her office I feel cheerful and optimistic that my condition can be improved and I will get well.

This doctor had the worst "bedside" manner. She was intolerant and hurried. And she didn't even perform the exam that the appointment was scheduled for. She said this was just an informational visit and I would have to make another appointment for the exam that I had scheduled the original appt. for. What a rip-off, extortionist all-around louse of a doctor. Don't go to her if you want medical care!
