i have been a patient of dr lerner's since jan 09. i have never had my gown ripped open and he has never looked at my breasts!! i had issues with him listening to me in the beginning, but i was trying to run the appointment and he does not like that. most holistic drs i have seen for cfs make their diagnosis by incorporating what you say. lerner isn't as interested in what you say, as he treats you based on the data of his many, many clinical studies. to be honest, i like not having to recall and assess how i've been feeling - knowing that i might not remember perfectly, as i am still sick. lerner runs the show. i have learned to let him come in and do his thing and then ask my questions. i'm trying to accomodate his issues with being questioned, but i don't mind. it works. he has helped me immeasurably. people fly from all over the country to see him. if you are overly sensitive, maybe he is not for you. if you want to GET WELL, he is.

Dr Lerner saved our daughters life. Our daughter was almost bedridden when we first saw Dr Lerner 18 months ago, now she is nearly leading a normal life. on a score out of 1 - 10 her health was a 2 and is now a 7.It upsets me greatly to hear negative things said about him. This man is the kindest most professional specialist I have ever meet.He is highly regarded by all in the medical profession. He is a great man, a hero to all his me/cfs patients. If you have me/cfs, see Dr Lerner, get your health and your quality of life back. I thank god everyday for finding such a brilliant, humble and sincere specialist.

The staff are AWFUL, just downright rude. The doctor had no idea what the birth control patch was and I had to explain it to him. He ordered tons of tests but didn't give me the results. I was hooked up to a holter monitor and had to go in for blood work once a week, but he never did a thing to help me. I felt like a test subject. He didn't look at me when I spoke and would snap when I did and demand my mother answer (I was underage at the time). I felt very uncomfortable around him. For every exam (every 2 weeks) he would rip the front of my gown to do a visual breast exam but I could never figure out why he needed to do that. In the end he told me I had to choose between seeing my regular family doctor or him, and said I couldn't see both. He was very upset when I told him I would no longer be seeing him because of the high costs. Just awful.

He did not answer my questions, but brushed me off. Matter a fact he was very unhelpful. I found one girl in the office to be downright rude. I thinks he is a fraud. When I had an another issue he wouldn't recommend someone else. Very unhappy

Dr. Lerner is delusional about the cause and cure of CFS. He claimed an open/honest approach when I started, yet wouldn't answer my questions. He diagnosed me with Lyme that turned out to be a false positive, yet claimed we "had success" when I was feeling worse. He said I had an EBV infection when my numbers where at or just above threshold. When I asked why I was so ill when my EBV numbers were so close to threshold, he didn't answer me. I took Valtrex for a year and my EBV count went up not down. I would want Lerner for an solvable problem - he's thorough and kind. He's old school though and outdated. CFS is a complex, individual and multi-factoral disease and he tries to claim a standard cure - this should be your first red flag. There is no known cause or cure for CFS and although it's good to rule out things like infection, if it's ME/CFS you have, be careful not to waste your money and watch your expectations.

Where can I begin, I've been with Dr. Lerner for about two years now and he has been absolutely wonderful. I do not have CFS like many that he treats and I've talked to other patients in office and I must say, If you have a problem with Dr. and/or staff, it is your problem. Many of you that I have had to listen to in the waiting room or at the desk expect far too much from the office. I can't believe the wackos that this office has to put up with. These people go out of their way, above and beyond on a daily basis. Take responsibility for your health!!! Eat right and exercise and quit whining. The world will be a far better place. Thank you Dr. Lerner and Staff.

I was Dr. Lerner's patient for approx 5 years for CFS.He was a very sweet doctor, thorough, smart etc. However, when I found out that I had a thyroid condition that was discovered by another doctor. Dr. Lerner was very upset with me because I had seen other doctors. After given thyroid meds I regained my health. He told me that I was going to have to make up my mind who I wanted to be my physician as he kept saying that I had lupus. I left his office for the last time that day and have felt great ever since (because of the thyroid medicine I am now on.) I'm sorry that we parted that way as I had become very fond of him through the years, and he turned me over to a collection agency for my last visit even after I had written him a letter telling him of my test results. I think he is really on top of CFS but unfortunately I feel he can't see the forest for the trees.

This man is very CREEPY! He does a visual breast exam on every visit. There is no reason why a woman should have to remove her bra and let him "take a look." He rips the paper gown WAY too far down in front. He's very "confused" too. I'll never go back.

Dr. Lerner is brilliant. He is giving me my life back after no one else could. His staff however, is rude and the receptionist seems to be borderline sadistic.

I wish that he would never retire. He figured out what was wrong with me in one visit. I believe that to be amazing since MANY other doctors I went to couldn't figure it out! His treatments have improved my quality of life and when I had issues that required doctors with different specialities, he sent me to the very BEST! The doctors that I was referred to mentioned to me, that Dr. Lerner was their teacher at one time and was a highly sought after professor. The request list for his classes were very long and not all students could have him as their professor and the ones that did considered themselves very lucky.
