My husband had a consult with Dr. Gjolaj and he is scheduled for scoliosis surgery with him next Tuesday, March 7th. We had an amazing experience with Dr. Gjolaj, he spent over 45 minutes with us explaining everything related to the surgery, what to expect afterwards. He is a very kind and compassionate physician with excellent bedside manners. We know that my husband will have a great surgical outcome with him as his surgeon.

This dr misdiagnosed me, told me that he would not do surgery because if it failed it was not "worth it" to fix it because of my insurance. I told him I was having trouble urinating and he said "you don't have that kind of problem" GUESS WHAT? I DID!!!A spine infection that necessitated emergent surgery. I could hardly walk. Guess what? Even though I took prescribed pain meds (which he said was a deal breaker) and even though I was over weight (he said was the reason for my issues) I found an amazing surgeon at the Paley Institute who saved my life and healed me. I can now live a normal life free from horrible back pain. Oh,by the way, he said all he would give me for pain was a lidocaine patch. He also said my ortho who referred me was "his friend" who sent me his way to cut me "loose" . Unbelievable. He may do surgery well but he is a cruel and scary dude. Told me to stop making him repeat himself when we asked questions.
Condescending, judgemental with regard to use of pain meds, his nurse was flat out rude...RUN

Dr Gjolaj performed an extension scoliosis revision surgery on me (I have harrington rods removed, new hardware in. I had significant pain, leg numbness before. This surgery was life changing. No more pain and my posture is dramatically improved. He is a thorough and very compassionate doctor. He is an exceptional surgeon. He has the patience of a saint as well. Wonderful human being.

Dr Gjolaj was recommended to me by a neurosurgeon for my back. He took the time to explain the problems with my back. He is very compassionate and dedicated. I will be having my surgery and I feel very confident that it will turn out great. I have work with surgeon my entire career as a nurse and manager. Dr Gjolaj is the surgeon I would have loved to work for. His staff is extremely helpful friendly and like hm answer every questions I have. Thank you for taking my case

Very thorough with his explainations. Spent as much time as I needed to review all of the surgical options. Made me feel comfortable about the expected benefits and risks of the surgery. He came highly recommended by a co-worker and I’m glad I chose him as my surgeon too. He and his staff have been top-notch from the very beginning.

WORST experience! He is all about the money and how much business you can bring him. He doesnt really care about his patients and has no compassion for them. Maybe he is a a good doctor who knows, but he is definitely not a good person. We went because my mom has a really bad back pain, he didnt even listen to my mom's symptoms. We asked questions but didnt answer them clearly, he was very rude and had an attitude he kept saying "I just told you, you are not listening to what I am saying" We asked him to be nicer and explain more about the surgery and his answer was " this is my personality and I am not going to change" He didnt take the time to explain anything, he was rude, impolite and could careless about my mom's health. Horrible experience.
