I researched my prostate surgery throughly and came across Dr Jarow at Johns Hopkins. I drove from Virginia beach to Baltimore to talk with him about surgery and was highly impressed. He was very through on having all information and tests completed before the surgery. Needless to say, I went back to Baltimore for surgery. Check in was great, pre op was great, and next thing I remember was waking up after surgery. Surgery went great, and Doctor Jarow followed up with phone consultation since I am from Virginia. Thanks Dr Jarow. Highly recommend

There is something to be said about the ecentricity of a very bright and learned person, however, I had higher expectations and had hoped to know more coming out than when I went in. This did not occur. Hoped for more information, employed good active listening skills, and asked good questions, but felt I was taken lightly, just another patient. Do not recommend.

Look, friends. If you go to Hopkins, you can expect to wait. Doesn't matter if it is the Wilmer Eye Clinic, Urology, or the Women's Center. But the fact is that they are rated the best every year. Why? Because their outcomes are good. We'll wait for that. As for Dr. Jarow - loved him. My husband had a rare presentation of testicular cancer with some complications caused by surgeries my husband had as a child and a very sloppy biopsy surgery (done by another surgeon at a nother hospital). The risks of the two surgeries Dr. Jarow performed were fairly high - but wow were we pleased with the results. Dr. Jarow reminds me of the nerdy guy you went to high school with - you know the one? The really smart one you might actually someday trust to cut near your genitals? And while he looks like a smart and studious guy, his bedside manner was great - sense of humor without making me think he wasn't taking it seriously. Have and will continue to recommend him.

He arrived 30 minutes late and neither acknowledged his tardiness nor apologized. He conducted himself in a strange manner which caused me to question whether he was an imposter. He was actually talking to himself about me and caused me to feel very uncomfortable. This visit was a failure. He may just be a very smart professor who lacks ability to convey helpful information and interact with patients.

Excellent surgeon for urology -> prostate, nephrectomy (kidney removal), "plumbing" problems. Good bedside manner. Knows what he is talking about.
