I came to ER with severe abdominal pain. Dr. Potts was courteous, professional and helpful. He took time to thoroughly explain the diagnosis . Thumbs up for Dr. Potts!

I have been chronically ill for years and have had some unpleasant hospital experiences but this makes those previous events look like a walk in the park. I have never been berated, humiliated, or terrified by a doctor before. I was terrified because the course of treatment he insisted on included a medication that would cause me severe pain. My physician sent me to the emergency room with documentation, records, etc. and expected me to be hospitalized overnight. I was discharged still in severe pain and uncontrollably vomiting. He forced me to drink water when I couldn't tolerate ice chips then discharged me while tachycardic from the pain. The entire reason I was sent there was because I couldn't hold down fluids, food, etc. for days and was in severe pain. If you're ever hospitalized at Alta Bates and wind up assigned to Dr. Potts, ask for another physician. I didn't know my rights before. I'll never set foot in that hospital again.
