Dr. Vargas was on time, professional and informative. Staff was excellent. All Dr's are very busy but Dr. Vargas was very patient and answered my all my questions. I am sorry others experienced a more negative impression.

Told I was all clear only to find out a year later I have Crohn’s disease. Had me taking naproxen for pain which causes more GI issues.

The office had the most awful smell. Waiting room was small and crowded. After waiting over an hour to be seen, I felt the doctor was rushing through my history and only would consider having me go to his other location where an endoscopy would be done. When i stated I didn't want to do that he said "ok" and was ready to just leave without offering any other solutions. I thought bedside manner was terrible. I was prepared to pay a co-pay of $55 day of visit. His office staff insisted I do not have a co-pay even when I insisted to them i did. I get a bill for a co-pay and now phone calls from their office wanting payment. I refuse to pay only because I feel the level of service that was billed to my insurance company did not warrant the level of service I actually received. This is the first time I am refusing to pay a medical bill due to poor service. I will take the chance of it going to collections before I give that office even a penny.

I go to my appointment 15 minutes early and waited an hour after my appointment time to see dr. Vargas. When I got into his office I checked my heart and then said ok will schedule you for a colonoscopy and endoscopy. I asked off the Vargas if he can schedule both at the same time he said no in the insurance company will not allow it. Proceeded to check out asked the reception is the same question about the insurance but the same answer insurance will not allow it. Meanwhile for the doctor to check my heart rate cost me $102. When I got home I called my insurance company and they said yes they do allow for both procedures at the same time as a matter of fact they recommend it so that way there a patient doesn't have to undergo anesthesia twice in three days. When I called dr. Vargas office to let them know what I found out with the insurance I was told you misunderstood. They said the doctor will not allow it because he will not get paid for the endoscopy which is the cheaper of the two procedures. Once again I'm on the phone with my insurance company only to find out that is not the case. I called dr. Vargas office back again they said it's up to the doctor's discretion and since the dr. Claims he will not get paid for the endoscopy he performs both procedures to separate days. Which in turn will cost a lot of money for the patient. My colonoscopy is covered 100% including the anesthesiologist, scheduling them separately would mean no I would have to pay for the anesthesiologist and the co-pay for the endoscopy. Beware folks this is a racket whatever happened to the doctors oath of First Do no harm.
