My child saw Dr. Plimpton for OCD. He claims he does CBT therapy, but all he actually did was relaxation or talk therapy or play therapy for children. If you go to him, make sure he actually does what he claims he will do - don't waste months in therapy while he claims he needs to get to really know your child first before he can do anything.

Dr Plimpton is one of the only therapists that treats selective mutism in Massachusetts. You will not find a more appropriate therapist to treat this disorder! He is well worth traveling cross country for. I have full faith in this therapist not only for his skills and knowledge of this rare disorder, but also for his bedside manners. The anxiety is lowered just by being around him, and he gives hope to what seems like a hopeless situation. I fully recommend this therapist hands down to anyone of any age that is struggling with phobias, selective mutism, OCD or anything that is in the anxiety realm. Thanks so much Dr Plimpton

Dr. Plimpton is so knowledgeable about anxious children and how to help them. He made such a difference with my boy with OCD, and he makes the therapy fun too.
