Dr. Terdiman is extremely knowledgeable and helpful, and he has an excellent bedside manner. The members of the support staff (people who run the office and the nursing staff) are also very helpful and competent. Dr. Terdiman is willing to "fight" for his patients, and he'll argue with other doctors on their behalf. But the only time I ever heard him raise his voice was when a nurse did not close the door of an exam room, and he feared compromising my privacy. (I feel as though the previous rater- the one who describes being sent to an acupuncturist by Dr. Terdiman based on the assessment of the intern- is probably not telling the whole story.)

Dr. Terdiman became my Gastroenterologist when my previous one at UCSF left practice to go into the phamaceutical business. I saw him once a year for about 5 years for an annual colonoscopy. I have a personal and family history of colon cancer and have seen many Gastroenterologists over the years. Dr Terdiman has a great bedside manner and a pretty good sense of humour. The nurses at UCSF - Mt Zion are great as well. Dr. Terdiman completes my procedure without any pain and always ensures that I am comfortable. I moved to Canada in 2006 and although I have a good doctor here, I still miss Dr Terdiman and his team at UCSF - Mt Zion. If I ever move back to the bay area I hope I can see Dr Terdiman again.

Was seen for 10 minutes by an intern then Dr. Terdiman entered the room to tell me the intern's assessment of me to be accurate and then recommended I see the most expensive acupuncturist. Not only is the acupuncturist more expensive then Dr. Terdiman I must believe that a medical doctor knows that an acupuncturist runs the risk of causing liver failure and other problems. Perhaps Dr. Terdiman was getting some sort of kick back from the acupuncturist.
