First, do no harm. After 3 months of weekly sessions on Doctor on Demand, she verbally attacked me at the end of what was to be our last session. It came out of the blue right after I revealed a painful childhood trauma and was vulnerable. She made her attack very personal, disregarding what I revealed. She had her own agenda. She claimed I was "hoarding" appointments by scheduling my time slot in advance (contrary to the policy and advice of Doctor on Demand), then saying "you think you're so smart", "you're quite a talker but a terrible listener", "you only see the world in black and white", and then ended her machine gun like attack with a triumphant revelation of a very serious and potentially damaging or stigmatizing diagnosis. She used that diagnosis as a weapon and submitted it to Doctor on Demand, making it a part of my medical record. It was inappropriate, spiteful and unprofessional.
I was stunned and speechless. Were any of this true, in the hands of a skilled, compassionate and empathetic therapist, it would be revealed over time, couched in gentler terms, and worked through or upon together, not used as a vulgar hit and run. No person has ever spoken to me with such venom or ever accused me of such insensitivity, let alone a supposed professional I am paying to help me through a (medical) crisis. She is untrustworthy and unprofessional.
