Wow. Avoid at all costs. Disturbing views of the world mixed with extreme judgement.

Session with mr. Baron were more about him and his life then our loss. My family saw him for grief counselling after the loss of a child. Much of our sessions seemed to us like a brag fest for Mr.Baron. He even kept us waiting to finish a scrabble game once. Imagine 3 members of your family sitting waiting for a therapist to finish his scrabble game to see you for counselling. Sadly we felt all our sessions were was a platform for Mr. Baron to talk about himself. We have since quit attending this therapist

I have been seeing Dr. Baron for eight months and he has been very helpful to me regarding parenting issues. He is always prompt, professional and willing to listen. He has been able to keep me on topic and help me find the solutions that I need. There has never been an issue with using therapy time to discuss extraneous issues not related to the topic. He does do a short review - going over the things discussed in the previous session, but I find this helpful as I don't always remember the specifics and it helps me to avoid discussing the same thing over and over. It is helpful to remember that the Dr. is a guide. He is not going to make you better without effort from you. He is a good listener and I would very much recommend him.

"Dr. Mike" is a friendly fellow. However, he does not seem to have a good grasp on psychological issues as they relate to peoples actual lives. He is hypersensitive to the financial component of his "job," always voicing his concern about being paid, even though this was never an issue with me, as I always paid on time, without being asked. His sessions are run on a basic 45 minute time frame in which he spends the first 10 min.talking about himself, the next 25 min. literally reading off of his notes as "review" of the previous session, and the last 10 minutes he let's you talk about your concerns. During that time he has no guidance to offer, so you could say,"Hey Dr. I would really like to talk about my Dad's cancer and how this is effecting me, and his response would be, "Well, let's first make a list of 5 good things in your life." You make the list, then he says, "Oh times up, we are done for today." Next session runs the same, and so on, and you never get anywhere.
