I brought my son to Dr. Brown in 2010, as he was recommended by our insurance company for Narcotic Addiction. Billy was addicted to Opiates and Dr. Brown prescribed Suboxone, which is often given for this reason to block the receptors in the brain while the patient "weans" off the narcotic. Problem is Dr. Brown never educated us on the fact that Suboxone is also highly addictive. He never explained that addiction is a brain DISEASE and you can not cure a disease by making "good choices" after the disease has taken over your brain. My son died from addiction on 11/9/12 - I am writing this as a service to other patients and parents....seek professional help - not just a doctor that writes prescriptions.
