This dentist is just ok. I was not satisfied with his visit and will not return. I have nothing more to say.

I've been a patient of Dr. Chung for several years and have increasingly been impressed by his friendliness, his knowledge and experience, his extraordinary attention to his patients' welfare, his generosity with his time and his insistence on maintaining the highest level of excellence in care. Dr. Chung's staff are uniformly highly competent, responsive and kind. It could not be easier to contact his practice, with Dr. Chung, himself, even sometimes picking up the call and all office matters such as scheduling being handled promptly and efficiently.

I received bone grafting from Dr. Chung. I found him reserved, sincere, and also exceptionally intelligent and serious about his work. There was no fluff yet he was very caring and attentive to my needs and message, both before, during the consultation, and during the procedure and now after with my questions for the staff who are also right on board with him, and top notch.

It is difficult to be a good gum and bone patient as much of the field is negative and pegging the patient for failures in brushing (not entirely true... as there are genetics involved). Hence bad patient attitudes abound. My dentist at Dearfield DID recommend me for crown lengthening. There really is no 'artsy fartsy' opinion thing about this in needless procedures. It is an objective measurement. That's all. You either need it or you don't.

If you need bone grafting or gum treatment, you are blessed and lucky to have this highly educated doctor with good and caring attitude. Yes it can be expensive... my upper and lower was 8k+ but it was extensive work, bone filler is expensive which he had to buy, he has to pay overhead/staff; and I figured he earned his own money for those two hours of amazing concentration in taking my face apart and putting it back together.

I feel grateful technology exists to fill in the bone. I am blessed to find such a straight serious shooter who is gentle and serious. Further, I am beginning to think and feel that everyone should go to a periodentist as they have very good care training. Indeed I should have been going exclusively to him for years.

Having a good attitude about the field in general helps, and the work. I focused on the positive, am increasing my cleanings for me and my family and home habits of flossing with 'Reach' flosser and portable 'Proxabrush' when out during day... And, second day still no pain from procedure! Thanking God.

Dr. Epstein, a periodontist and an artist, whose paintings reflect a human connection, treated his patients with great respect. Unfortunately, the new generation of periodontists in the Dearfield Medical Building are not artists with their treatment. Neither Dr. Chung, nor
Dr. Volchonok, both at 4 Dearfield, can match the quality and care provided by Dr. Epstein. Dr. Chung is a businessman and so is Dr. Volchonok. The new offices' appearances don't mean anything if patients are not treated with respect and in the safest manner possible. Both periodontists offer very expensive treatments, gum surgeries and lanap, which are not covered by insurance-precisely because they are not proven to be as effective as they claim. There are other periodontists in Greenwich, who have, at least been around for over a decade.

Beware of this periodontist. Told me I need a crown lengthening and that he spoke with my Dentist and my Dentist agreed. Tried to immediately book an appo8ntment for surgery. When I asked my Dentist after the fact— he denied ever agreeing to that surgical procedure. I went to another periodontist with more experience and he told me that I did not need that surgical procedure. My new crown was installed and the procedure Chung pushed on me was totally one hundred percent not needed.

Dr. Chung tried to manipulate me into unneeded gum surgery, in a very pushy, unethical way. He still uses the antiquated palatal transfer technique, which can cause a necrotic palate because it involves two surgical sites and TWO times the price - to fund his next luxury black mercedes sedan! I left, and will never return. He was NOT able to provide this diagnosis in writing-evidence that he is avoiding the law! There are plenty of new, more effective, safer, gum grafting materials available-if really needed. Please report all abusive, unethical conduct to Greenwich Hospital, ADA, and even the authorities-as unnecessary procedure and intentional damage is dangerous and illegal. That was two years ago. Dr. Robert Chung intentionally banged a hole in my tooth. He claimed he was cleaning out a cavity. Then he told me he had to do gum surgery to pull back the gum so the dentist could fill the cavity. He refers to Dr. Michael Gentile who may be in on the scam.

I went to an independent periodontist who said I don't have a cavity.

I am sad to report this since I have been a patient for many years and am so surprised by this turn of events.

As someone seeing Dr Chung over 7 yrs- I must comment on previous post- as there is no staff member by the name of "Maria" working with the practice- additionally - I have found the office to consistently treat me with the utmost courtesy.....hence the reason I have continued with the office for all these yrs
