Dr. Jafar was intimidating and bullying. He misdiagnosed my condition and when I tried to switch doctors he berated me and essentially would not let me. He treated me like a drug seeker. He failed to take my reports of EPS due to compazine as serious and did not document my reports. I suffered three years with worsening, frightening, and mysterious symptoms that also caused severe depression, made it impossible to maintain employment, and caused visible physical effects (e.g., Tardive dyskinesia)that could have been irreversible. I almost didn't make it. He pretty much told me that although it sounded frightening he couldn't (wouldn't) do anything to help. Jafar is a specialist in psychiatry and should have been able to identify EPS quickly, but he did not respect me nor did he take me seriously. Luckily, I was able to get care outside of Kaiser (it took about two minutes for the doctor to figure out I was having a severe allergic reaction to compazine. Don't be afraid to fire your doc.
