I should have written this review long ago, but if I had it would be far less polite. This practice is a sham. This professional is anything but and he's far more focused on money than mental health. He definitely was a detriment to mine. He shook my belief in self. I found him to be cold, rushed and arrogant. It was beyond just being clinical. He contradicted himself over and over again and spoke as if I couldn't conceptualize complex issues such as depression. My late-mother was psychiatrist. I don't fear the chair and I am not an anxious person, but this man made me feel especially uneasy. I thought it was just me. Maybe I wasn't in the right headspace at the time. Maybe I wasn't ready to accept what he had to say. Maybe our communications were doomed by cultural differences. I was still a bit clumsy in English. Maybe he was hostile against me because I complained when I was double-billed.

I'm now seeing an actual professional. He doesn't always say what I want to hear, but what he says is about me it rings true. He, unlike Dr. Yuen, sees me as a person. We have a rapport that is not awkward and stilted or warm and fuzzy.

When I recanted my experience to him, he guessed the name before I provided it. It was clear he held Dr. Yuen in low regard. Thinking back I remembered how the office staff themselves lived in a constant state of disorganization, were continually flustered and seemed to fear this man. As if their workplace were traumatizing. I did a bit more research and he has had highly contentious relationships with prior partners in practice and with fellow board members of various community organizations.

I really am just starting to do undo his damage. This review is in part to warn prospective patients away, but also to reach out and inform other former patients he may have harmed.
