Worst doctor ever-needs to retire! Will add more problems then help and then will blame you. He lies on records stating all this time he spends with you-I seen him at most 5 minutes any time I ever seen him. He is never in the office and actually told me he had a life too when it had been 2 months and he hadn't wrote an appeal letter to my insurance all while he should have never been doing the surgery he was to write the appeal for because my upper jaw never attached. My metail plates broke after some time of my jaw not being attached and he left me that way for months and months. I finally had to go to my original surgeon which had moved and have the surgery done in another state.

I went to see Dr. Potter because he was referred by my Dentist. I am having constant jaw pain, not sure what is causing it. I was told when I arrived that if it is TMJ my insurance would not cover it. Dr. Porter came in, I told him what was going on, (he acted very disinterested) then he had me do an xray, then he came back in the room and said I needed a $36,000 surgery to fix the problem and that my insurance didn't cover it. I was sort of in shock, and still had some more questions, he left the room, another staff member came in and gave be a paper that had the cost on it, she then left the room, and I sort of sat there and never got the Dr. to come back in to answer any of my questions, so I left. I think once he found out I didn't have insurance coverage he was done. Very bad experience. I still have jaw pain and now have to find yet another Dr. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME.

I originally went to Dr. Potter for TMJ surgery. My previous doctor wanted me just lo go on pain killers but Potter saw I needed surgery ASAP for my deteriorating jaw. Afterward my jaw was better than ever! It has been 3 years since and no problem at all - first time since I was 12! I went to him for my nose job later on. I did not set correctly and was obviously from the beginning. I waited 3 months and he redid it at no charge. Now it looks beautiful! It was frustrating that I had to wait a while in the front room every visit and once I got into the back, it was another 30 minutes. Other than that, I am very happy with all my results!

What can I say, other than Dr. Potter botched my Mother's surgery and made her life, and ours, a living hell for two years before she was well enough to have his disasterous procedure repeated and CORRECTED. If any surgery should have failed, it would have been the one done to correct his work. Instead, it was a success, however, Dr. Potter's previous surgery rendered her a handicapped woman who could barely walk and experienced severe pain each and every day of her remaining years. Dr. Potter and his staff showed zero concern for her once she was discharged from the hospital. No calls to see how she was doing. Nothing. At one point, he prescribed a powerful painkiller for her that would have likely killed her had we not caught his mistake in time. She was violently allergic to narcotics and opiates. Despite this being noted on her chart, he dispensed the medication. A mistake that had her in the ER moments later. Requests for medical records went unanswered as well. Please retire.

This was one of the worst experiences with a medical "professional" that I've ever had. I had TMJ and reconstructive jaw surgery, as well as dental implant placement. A botched job. I wound up having to go to someone else who removed the implant posts and had to redo them after months of bone grafts in between. Dr. Potter was not punctual, spent little time with me, and was very cavalier about problems. Trying to get a phone call returned by either him or his staff was like "pulling teeth"(ha ha)- until my new doctor sent him a letter stating what he found. Then I got a call back from Dr. Potter that afternoon offering to give me back a portion of my money. Would I recommend him or his office? Never.

I have recently gone to Dr. Potter for Tmj surgery and I am very pleased. I found him to be very knowledgeable and he did not sugar coat anything. I would recommend him to family and friends. I felt very confident with him and his experience. I am very happy with the surgery that he did.

I was disappointed in the final outcome. There were attempts to correct the problems, but there was minimal improvement, and I was told that there was not going to be anything more they could do for me. I have hollow areas where there too much fat was taken out and other areas that not enough was taken and there was little difference from the way it looked before the lipo suction. There did not seem to be enough time allowed in office visits to address these problems. Perhaps I should have sought a second opinion. There was some improvement, but it was not a satisfactory experience for the money that was paid.

HORRIBLE DOCTOR--had TMJ surgery 2 years ago & was worse after. Jaw was still misaligned he would say it's just swollen. Had 2 rounds of cortisone shots within a year (he suggested a 3rd and I didn't do it). After 1 year he decided to give me a mouth guard. While the assistant took impressions, she walked back and forth in front of me holding the molds in place. When I got the appliance they handed it to me and didn't even fit it. That night when I put it on it rocked back and forth in my mouth--wore it 3 nights and jaw pain was terrible. THEN, I found Dr. Higdon (wish I had found him 5 years earlier). Dr. Higdon fixed the mess Potter did and now a year later I am finally pain-free (after extensive dental work). Also, because my jaw is even more misaligned than it was before the surgery, I have sleep apnea and have to use a CPAP machine at night to sleep. Potter's manners are atrocious. Don't go to him for TMJ.

I went to Dr Potter (2005) to consult about osteomyelitis of my jaw. After seeing 5 different surgeons for my chronic osteomyelitis I think he knows surprisingly little about chronic osteomyelitis. the surgery he preformed had to be redone by someone else out of state a month later. Basically I found potter to be worthless and the staff about the same. ps...I literally waited in the foyer of the office over 2 hours past my appointment time while I listened to the "receptionists" yaked and gossiped about their personal issues. A complete waste of my time and money, oh yeah, I thought his patient interaction was not so good, and he wears very flashy unprofessional clothes for an MD, like dude prada isn't for the medical office! I do have to say that I think Dr Dierks his business partner is of a much higher professional caliber than potter
