A Doctor you can Trust! Dr. Kamyar Cohanshohet (familiarily known as "Dr. K"), is a consummate professional. A thoughtful, intelligent physician, he offers a profound insight into the many ramifications of pain management. Over nearly two years now, he has proven to me enormously capable and sensitive to my needs. My chronic pain situation has evolved over the course of our association, and Dr. K has responded to that evolution with a remarkable sense of compassion, yet also with the due caution expected of a doctor in his field. I can honestly report that Dr. Cohanshohet will provide a tremendous insight into your pain management requirements, and then offer a regimen of medication that will satisfy your needs. Because of his highly attuned insights, he will only offer a responsible course of action, yet still provide a truly compassionate and effective regimen of treatment. If you want a doctor you can trust, he's the one, in my opinion.

Yes the cost to see him seems high but when you factor in the quality of service and care you recieve,it is truly low. First things first his staff is very, very helpful. I was moving from MD to CA and they Meade the transition very easy. Second if you have a 10 am appointment you will be seen no later then 10:05am. He does not see very many patients each day so he's never running behind. When I was seeing him typically he had 20-30 minutes set aside for each patient and it was nice to finally see a doctor who was willing to spend more than 5-10 minutes with me. He truly cared about my well being and we spent lots of time just talking. He gave me great advice for life and for other ways of helping to treat my pain besides just taking pain meds. I would have continued to see him had I not moved to San Diego and got health insurance and was able to see a doctor there in S.D. I have pre existing health conditions and couldn't get ins. He was the only Doc that I could find who would see me

Having lived with a degenerative disease that causes impaired mobility & chronic pain for 20+ years, I have seen many doctors. I previously lived in Michigan & was blessed with seeing a truly awesome doctor. When moving to California, I was fearful of not being able to find one here of the same caliber. Then I found Dr. K & I soon realized this would not be the case. On my 1st visit I found Dr. K to be caring, compassionate, understanding & knowledgeable, and he never made me feel like a drug addict or drug seeker. He did a thorough history & physical, requested my medical records & developed a treatment plan which included my input-something that greatly improves patient compliance. He is very easy to talk to & understands how the whole person & what they are going through affects how well the treatment plan will work. I have never felt rushed at any of my appointments. The office staff are always friendly & courteous. I will recommend him to anyone I know that may need his services.

Dr. Cohanshohet is very attentive during an office visit and takes the time to understand issues and current condition. He was diligent in obtaining past medical records and reviewing history. I was especially impressed by how conscientious he and how he would would not move on until all questions have been answered. I would recommend this doctor to anyone.

After seeing many doctors who had no compassion or sympathy for me I found Dr. K. I have been suffering for years with chronic back pain and coccyx pain due to a fall in 2009. Every doctor told me the same thing, there was nothing they could do for me and would only prescribe me ibuprofen. One doctor every suggested surgery without even first doing an MRI. After much frustration and eventually depression i was ready to give up and just live with the pain. Then I found Dr. K. Not only did he take the the time to listen to me and sympathize but he took steps to get to the bottom of my pain. He is compassionate and caring. Has the best bed side manner of any doctor out there. He has helped me tremendously with my pain and dealing with the depression and stress that comes with being in chronic pain. I'm so glad I found him and I would definitely refer him to any friend or family member. He is so kind and caring, just the kind of doctor anyone in pain could ever hope for!!! Thank you Dr.K!

I became Dr. K's patient about four months ago. I had seen one other pain management Dr. And one other orthopedic surgeon before I went to him, so I've had other experiences to compare with. He is extremely compassionate and has a marvelous manor about him. He treated me like he actually cared about my well being as a person and not just a chart being suffuse from one side to the other. His fees are slightly higher but you really get what you pay for here. I honestly would refer a family member if they needed his care.
