Dr. Joan Henning was excellent with my family and family member in the E.R. at Vanderbilt Hospital. She sincerely showed great patience and compassion during a time of need. This patient had no insurance and wanted help for detox from prescription medication addiction along with being suicidal at the time. This was a very difficult and scary time for our family because we had never experienced this type of issue with anyone. Being a weekend, the E.R. was over crowded and patients lined up in hallways due to no room vacancy. I was amazed at Dr. Henning when she calmly asked numerous questions and was in no rush to get to the next patient. Not only did she listen, but she gave my loved one time to ask her questions and she answered all questions. I would highly recommend her for any emergent event. We need many more physicians like her
