This doctor had the worst bedside manner I ever encountered. My mother was in the hospital after a stroke, and Dr. Shaw came in several times and told the family in front of my awake, aware mother that she would probably not get any better. When she spoke directly to my mother, it was like she was talking to a dog or cat. She should not be involved in direct patient care, since she apparently has no empathy. By the way, 3 days after her latest pronouncement of doom, my mother is beginning to speak in short sentences and is making amazing progress. I talked to the clinical director and told him that we did not want Dr. Shaw to ever have anything more to do with my mother's case.
