Dr. Blankenship performed a cardiac catheterization on my 91 year old father 7 months ago, on Aug. 6, 2008. He completely cleared a blockage that was in the right coronary artery and prevented blood from reaching the bottom part of his heart. Prior to this, he experienced dizziness, lightheadedness and was unsteady on his feet. He has also had short-term memory loss. If I had taken him to Dr. Blankenship from the beginning, instead of relying on Mt. Nittany Medical Center in State College PA, much valuable time could have been saved and there would have been less damage; when my dad initially had a heart attack in 2007, he should have been sent to see Dr. Blankenship. He is very compassionate, kind, helpful and understanding; shows video of procedure before it takes place so patients have idea of what to expect, and has excellent follow-up. My father is now on aspirin & Coumadin to prevent blood clots from coming back. Dr. Blankenship has been named to Best Drs of America 2008.
