My visits were routine and he was good until after my surgery. Then he was unreachable. His office closed. I was having complications and couldn't get ahold of anyone. My new Doc. found out that he took more out of my body then explained and didn't fix all of the issues that needed done.

At check-in for my first appt I was handed forms to fill out. In my new patient paperwork there were forms with someone else's info and signature on them. It bothered me a lot but I tried to give the benefit of the doubt that maybe someone got busy and forgot to check. Obviously, attention to detail in a medical practice is a huge deal and it became an ongoing problem; that other woman's forms in my packet were a red flag I shouldn't have ignored. After 2nd visit, Doctor ordered an unauthorized genetic test on me as part of what his office calls the "routine" pregnancy bloodwork. My bill from the lab (after insurance denied the claim due to it being a genetic test) was over $4000! We specifically told him we wanted no genetic testing and I was never consulted that it would be ordered with the "routine" bloodwork, no staff ever advised me of my right to opt out and in my lengthy "consultation" (less than 30 seconds) the office didn't even advise me of the correct place to sign the lab order! When I called to try and resolve the matter I was unfortunately connected with the office manager, Cheryl, who did NOTHING to ease my stress and in fact only made the situation worse by blaming me for not questioning the lab orders in the 30 seconds I had them before signing, placing me on hold multiple times to answer another line and, when I asked to be connected to someone less busy who could set aside the time to speak with me, I was told, combatively, "ma'am, YOU are not only patient in this practice." With a $4000 bill in hand looking desperately to my physicians office for help, I expected compassion...or at the very least professionalism. After placing a deadline on my request to get a call back from him, the doctor reached out. He alleges that this was the first he had ever heard of there being an issue with the test, and he agreed to try and settle the bill with the lab but would pass the FULL charges right along to me at $600 and said he would confirm in writing. No communication followed that the charges had actually been settled, and we wanted to meet with another doctor to compare care, so I requested my records to be sent to the new OB for an appt with her the following week. After numerous calls to Legends OBGYN, and being told they would print and send my records within the hour, the billing specialist called back later that day at 4:50pm (on a Friday before they were going to be closed for a week) to tell me they were withholding my medical records for payment on the bill for which I had no documentation or statement to confirm. They wouldn't even release my records to ME. As I quickly learned, withholding medical records for payment of any kind is actually against the law. Ultimately, I had to get a compliance officer involved and threaten to file the HIPPA complaint I had prepared to get him to release my records. He later told the compliance agent that he "didn't know" it was against the law to withhold medical records when requested. Not knowing the laws governing medical practices is a MAJOR concern considering he runs his own practice! So much unnecessary stress during pregnancy that I wouldn't want any other woman to experience. I even read reviews while researching him and saw a couple of not so great ones. I chalked them up to isolated issues or situations that wouldn't ever happen to me....sure wish now that I would've paid closer attention to those and NEVER gone to Legends OBGYN in KC, KS!

I've seen Dr. Peghee for the last 17 weeks and I refuse to go back to see him. He does not see me as a patient, instead he sees me an easy way to bill the insurance company. Yesterday my partner and I took time off work for appointment which I was told previously would be an ultrasound. Turns out that my labs could not be found. The appointment that I looked forward to for four weeks was a complete waste of time.Dr. Peghee does not explain anything and tries to get me out as quick as possible.

I am extremely disappointed with the care I received from Dr. Peghee. I picked a local provider because as a student here at CGSOC I did not want to miss too much class. Appointments never started on time-45 mins late. Staff not at all apologetic. Appointments were always extremely quick and he never took the time to explain anything. Ended up having gestational diabetes and it took two weeks for him to confirm at 30 weeks versus 27-28 weeks. Then whole prescription process has been a complete mess. All these errors have forced me to purchase some items myself versus letting TRICARE pay for it because I couldn't afford to miss anymore class. Then he said that I would be induced but didn't even realize that he wasn't going to be here to induce me, therefore he said I needed to find a new doctor with only two weeks till the induction date. Dr. Peghee seemed more concerned about making sure I scheduled my follow on OB/GYN care with him at his new office!
