Dr. Cousineau does not have a good bedside manner and makes you feel rushed during the appointment. Would not recommend

I love love love Akron OBGYN Associates, but Dr. Cousineau is a massive disappointment. When I was pregnant with my son, she was always late to appointments, and never even glanced at my chart before hand. She always seemed in a huge rush and was not keen on answering the questions of a first time mom. My water broke at 30 weeks and I was hospitalized for the remainder of my pregnancy. Everyday whoever was on call from OBGYN associates would come visit me. All of the other doctors (even though I had never seen them before) were so nice and took the time to answer all of my questions. Whenever Cousineau came in, she was flippant and quite frankly, rude. When I went to my 6 week post delivery checkup , I made sure to tell the office manager to switch me to any other physician there. All of the other doctors are FAB!!

I was a patient of Dr Cousineau's for just over a year, over which time I was in her office easily every 4-6 weeks for health issues I was having. But yet every time I came in I repeatedly felt as though I was starting over with her, she had no idea who I was or why I was there. And while I explained that my ongoing issues were, in fact, still ongoing, she never took a proactive approach, instead it was a year of "wait and see." When we finally performed surgery to remove a cyst, she discovered stage 4 endometriosis - of which she told my husband was "one of the worst cases she's seen in 20+ years" and also admitted "she's been telling me for a year now that she wasn't feeling well." Amazing. Her surgery also resulted in several complications that put me in the hospital for three days (it was supposed to be a simple same day surgery). She is not easy to access for questions or issues, does not have a friendly demeanor, does not listen to her patients or respect their time (every one of my visits involved a 45+ minute wait time), and has zero bedside manner. I would not recommend her services to anyone.

I've been a long time patient of Dr. Cousineau. I absolutely love her! She has taken the time to diagnose me properly. I also had a traumatic delivery in which thankfully she arrived and prevented harm done to my preemie . She is knowledgeable and patient. HOWEVER, I find her staff to be rude. Outside of Rhonda. I have recommended many to see Dr. Cousineau and we seem to have the same opinions of her staff. The one receptionist at the front desk is down right nasty and rude when I call or visit, Kate. She has made an expecting friend of mine cry from her rudeness. The wait time is ridiculous. I have never had an on time appt or even close to it. Follow ups to the Medical Assistants for Labs is like pulling teeth and they are not knowledgeable of what they are reading. At the same, I battle these frustrations due to liking Dr Cousineau and her over all concern and care. She is worth rattling your patience for.

My husband and I were expecting our first child together and had my first pregnancy visit at 9 weeks. Excited as any expected mother-to-be upon arrival until meetings Dr. Cousineau. With my husband by my side as she performed the internal ultrasound, she appeared puzzled during the examination. After about 5 minutes, she states " I don't believe this pregnancy is viable" without any empathy at all. She merely said it happens all the time as if I/my husband shouldn't be upset. Even if she's been a Dr for 20 + years and has seen numerous unfortunate events, doesn't mean the client needs to feel unimportant. Terrible bedside manners. Even after my D&C, I had abnormal amounts of bleeding and she was very difficult to reach. When my husband finally spoke with her, she didn't seemed concerned at all. It's very unfortunate that bedside manner is slowly fading away.

She is always at least 1 1/2 hours late for appts. in fact she was about that late for my surgery.I was on the table waiting for her to finish getting dressed in the other room. She ran into the room said hi to me and they knocked me out! Most doctors come to see you BEFORE cutting on you.The real icing on the cake came when she didn't bother to speak to my family after surgery was done and left!! Are you kidding me??Who does that? It has been 12 days and we still haven't talked to her! My husband took me for my post op recheck yesterday and after waiting over an hour the girl at the desk told me that there were still 5 patients ahead of me to be seen, we requested my records and left! What an awful way to treat your patients and their families. Apparently the ability to perform robotic hysterectomies does not require you to be a decent human being. I bet they will know who I am when they want paid. I have Summa Insurance which is not listed above and I am complaining to them also.

I was extremely dissatisified with Dr. Cousineau and her staff during the pregnancy of my wife. My wife was admitted with HELLP a severe compication that happens in the third trimester. Instead of taking the baby immediately which 99.9\% of the Dr's would have she decided to put my baby and wife in danger and attempted 3 inductions which all failed. finally at 4 a.m. on Sunday morning 4 days after being admitted with severe Pre-Clampsia and HELLP they decided to perform a c-section. Thankfully the baby and wife are doing great, we avoided a disaster. The good Lord was with us.

She is a wonderful Dr. that listens to you. She doesn't play around if you have symptoms of a problem. She runs the tests to find out what is wrong and handles the problem. That's what I want in a Doctor.
