Biography
Dr. Taormina completed his Gastroenterology training at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington DC and settled back into Lee’s Summit in 1985 after completing military duties. He is a graduate of UMKC School of Medicine and is Councilor in the Missouri State Medical Association. Midwest GI Health (MWGI) participates in all major health plans in the Metro area. He is triple board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in Gastroenterology, Geriatric Medicine and Internal Medicine. His practice is physician owned and affiliated with the adjacent Midwest Physicians Surgery Center, the only ASGE certified outpatient endoscopy center in Western MO. MWGI performs colonoscopy and upper endoscopy exams in a comfortable, non-hospital setting, typically with lower out of pocket costs and outstanding quality measures comparable to University centers.
