In his book, Under the Dome, Stephen King had a character who was a dentist, a very greedy dentist. BTW, Dome had definitive political overtones. Dr. Capaldo is such a dentist.
I went to Dr. Capaldo when I cracked an implant crown at the fault of a food manufacturer. The food manufacturer told me to have my crown examined by a dentist and they sent me a form for him to complete. I called Dr. Capaldo‘s office prior to scheduling the appointment and was told that there would be no problem for him to complete the form. I expected that I would have him restore the cracked crown, a nice chunk of change for his pocket.
He spent all of 5 minutes with me. Took an unnecessary x-ray (it was, after all, an implant crown) and charged me all of $192.00. After several weeks passed, I learned that he never sent the form as promised and his office staff yelled at me.
I have since seen another dentist who took x-rays or extracted a tooth for all of $99 and spent far more than 5 minutes with me.
