Biography

Dr. Nikiforov is a compassionate and caring psychiatrist treating young and older adults with different issues including stress, sleep issues, anxiety, panic attacks, ADHD, memory problems, mood disorders including Depression and Bipolar disorders, mood disorders related to medical problems. He likes working with patients and their families spending the time to answer questions. He is easy going and loved and respected by patients and families. Dr. Nikiforov is Board Certified by the American Board of Psychiatry & Neurology, Psychiatry in 2005 and Geriatric Psychiatry in 2008. He is an Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. His residency training in psychiatry was at Mount Sinai Beth Israel Medical Center in New York City. He continued his training during a fellowship in geriatric psychiatry at the same institution For fifteen years Dr. Nikiforov held a position teaching and supervising mental health professionals as a Chief of Inpatient Unit and a Director of Electroconvulsive Therapy Program at Mount Sinai St. Luke's Medical Center. He also had extensive experience of working in Psychosomatic, Geriatric, Emergency, and Outpatient Psychiatry.
