Biography

Dr. Sandra Frohling has more than 20 years of experience in internal medicine with Marshfield Clinic Health System. Dr. Frohling chose internal medicine because she loves the intersection of managing multiple complex chronic medical problems and understanding a person’s personal life joys and struggles. “I enjoy the long-term relationship with my patients and in particular, enjoy being a part of the transitions in life from young adulthood, to retirement, to end of life,” she said. Two aspects of Dr. Frohling’s style that have endeared her to patients are her preparation and her listening skills. “I rarely walk into a room without having reviewed the patient’s record,” she said. “I listen intently because it’s essential to get to know a patient in order to provide good care.” In addition to her practice, Dr. Frohling is proud to volunteer at the Open Door Clinic in Chippewa. “I have always had a desire to provide care for underserved populations such as the uninsured or underinsured patients we care for in Chippewa,” she said. “I have been volunteering there since its inception in 2006.” She earned her medical degree from the University of Washington-School of Medicine in Seattle, Washington, and completed her residency and internship in internal medicine at Maine Medical Center in Portland, Maine. Outside of work, Dr. Frohling enjoys family time with her husband and two daughters. In the mornings and weekends, you also can find her engaging in fitness and outdoor activities like swimming, hiking, biking, cross country skiing, yoga and kayaking.
