Aruna Avanti is a liar and a thief.

It's a long story but the gist is this: I was up charged for a crown because the dentist upgraded the material for $325 without checking with me first. My plan allows for a standard crown at around $550, and the max in lab fees they can charge on anything is $325. They purposely up charged me so they could collect the max allowed through the insurance.
I commented on the estimate seeming high, and asked about the lab fees, but the woman at the desk just said, "yeah, this is what they cost." This was new insurance so I thought maybe I just had a crappy plan, trusted them, and paid in advance of the dental work. Well, I checked my plan and called the insurance rep, and they verified that it was an unnecessary up charge. I immediately brought the error to their attention. I was told by the front desk she 'would work on it' but hopefully they could refund at least a portion of it. After several back and forths, they refused to do anything.
This is after my temp crown broke three times, meaning three times in the chair for over an hour while the tech tried a new one. After a week or two of this, I just went without a crown, which sucked. The dentist never came in to see what the problem was, and try to see if she could fix it herself, she was nowhere to be found.
When I came in to get fitted for the permanent, I had a chance to speak directly to the dentist about the incorrect up charge. She tried to sell me on the new material, saying the standard crown is just horrible and will break immediately (I have a standard crown in my mouth right now that is 8 years old, not to mention that the material they chose for the temp broke three times, and I'm supposed to trust their choice in material?). Lo and behold, there was suddenly a form for me to sign, allowing for the material upgrade. When I told her this conversation and form needed to be done BEFORE I paid, not after the crown was already made, and that I needed to be refunded, she refused. We argued for at least 30 minutes. She absolutely refused to make it right, or admit any error.
So here I am, sitting in a chair with a dentist I don't trust, a tooth I've been walking around with without a crown, and I had a choice to make. Find another dentist to make me a crown and pay again, and what, try to sue her for the crown I already paid for? I was completely vulnerable and desperate for a tooth and just gave up.
I followed up after that experience with an email, giving her one last chance to make it right, and I was told that because the dentist offered to make me a new standard crown and since I refused that, there was nothing that could be done. THIS WAS A TOTAL LIE. The dentist NEVER offered me that choice. She is a liar and a thief.

Check your plan, know your allowable charges, and NEVER trust them to do it for you. They'll rob you without any remorse.

She’s an excellent dentist. The atmosphere is friendly and warm. Kelly the receptionist,was very friendly and knowledgeable as was Angie the dental assistant. Dr. Avanti gives you a thorough exam and discusses your options not just ready to extract. She explains treatment plan. She is very professional and it seems like I’ve known her all my life.She is pretty and painless, small and strong with a strong grip. I love my crown and it feels good and looks nice. Her work is above reproach.

Dr. Avanti is a thorough professional. I have been visiting her since 2007. I have got cleaning and extraction procedures done from her. She is patient and gives individual attention as the case requires. Friendly, prompt staff . I would highly recommend her for any dental procedures.

I have been visiting Avanti Dental for nearly 10 years now. I have done many procedures from cleaning to crown replacement and root canal. I have been very impressed with the quality of work performed at this clinic. Dr Avanti is very professional, experienced and friendly doctor. Her staff is also very professional and friendly. I would highly recommend this clinic for any dental procedures.
