Dr. Ramrakhiani is by far the best cardiologist I have ever met. I first met her when she began care for my elderly father 10 years ago. I was very impressed with her then, even more so now, as I am now her patient.

At my initial consultation, which was excellent, she listened to my heart extensively and explained exactly what she was doing, and also listened very carefully to what I had to say. She had her office schedule me for a tomographic angiogram within seven days. An echocardiogram was also scheduled for a few weeks later, with a follow-up appointment a week after that.

The afternoon of the CTA her office called and asked me to come in the next day at around noon. The next morning they had a cancellation and had me come in even sooner.

She examined me very carefully, showed me the images of the CTA and used the anatomical model of the heart to show me the serious occlusion I had which needed treatment right away.

She referred me to a top rated interventional cardiologist to do an angioplasty and stent placement.

I told her my Echo was scheduled for a couple weeks later, and she immediately changed the order to have it done as soon as possible.

Her staff checked the schedule, spoke to the technician who does the Echo, and asked if I could do the test now. Of course, I said yes. The technician was very professional, and did the test right away.

I am at this moment waiting for a callback from the surgeons office.

Her practice is in a building which is a cardiac center. The staff there is very good. They are courteous, responsive, intuitive, efficient, and absolutely everything one would want in a doctors office. This includes the receptionist and the medical staff.

I unhesintatingly recommend Dr. Ramrakhiani.

I am sure the Dr. is very knowledgeable, but she does not seem to be very interested in listening the human being that the heart is keeping alive. She seemed impatient and spoke over my parent as they were trying to explain how they felt. She did not seem interested in their goals for their health, in explaining what was going on and what might change, or their questions about what they might experience long term with their illness. Only whether they was taking their medications. I had gone along to this appointment, because they had mentioned not liking their cardiologist, and I can see why. Heart problems are essentially intrinsically linked to lifestyle, and lifestyle is an expression of a human patient's habits, hopes and dreams. Medicine's goal is to create positive outcomes, with the goal of a high quality of life. In order to know what a patient considers a positive outcome, you have to listen to the patient. The heart is a machine, but it is keeping alive a human.

Wouldn't answer questions via email, even though she offered to in the initial appointment. After some email questions, she said to make an appointment with her to go over the questions. Also ordered a test that she couldn't or wouldn't interpret--said to make an appointment with another specialist to go over the results. Why order a test that you can't then interpret for your patients?
