Horrible surgery experience. After my surgery, apparently the people who were supposed to help me went home so I did not receive proper home instructions which made my recovery worse and last longer. The nurse did not even know how to properly teach me how to use crutches. The doctor even blamed me and said I was too weak to heal properly. After this mishap, it was a lesson the hospital apparently just learned to provide proper knee surgery home care instructions after surgery. I will never get surgery with this doctor or hospital again. Such a bad experience overall.

NEVER AGAIN - Waited in lobby 40 minutes past my appointment time (which was made 2 weeks prior), the staff put me in a room and said they would be right back that they were looking for my chart it took them 10 minutes. During their search time they left my room door open and I sat a watched Dr. Elias argue with a female staff member in between going in and out of other patients rooms not spending very much time with the other patients. When it was my turn, Dr. Elias came in reading my chart didn’t make eye contact just said I see that your knees are bothering you and asked if I had an MRI lately I said no and said that my Primary Doctor had X-Rays done which were on the computer screen behind you. He said X-rays do not show anything as he quickly looked over his shoulder at the screen, turned back to my chart, said get an MRI, and then come back. Dr. Elias handed me a piece of paper and said the girls at the desk could help me. The staff at the desk could not read what the Dr. wrote so they had to call him over to explain I was then asked to pay $ 180.00 I asked for what? The front staff told me that they charge upfront for the initial office visits and when I come back after I had the MRI I would not be charged for the follow up office visit. I was very confused as to why the charge the Dr. didn’t even do an examine just told me to get an MRI and I have PPO insurance and the front of my card says $0.00 for office visits no explanation I just had to pay which I did. When I called to make my follow up appointment, I told the appointment girl that I was feeling uneasy. That I felt I was being taken since the doctor was charging without even doing an examine so she put a note in my file of what I told her for Dr. Elias which he reads to me laughing and mocking me. Then I received a bill in the mail that the first office visit was $ 270.00 it showed that I paid $ 180.00 and owed a balance then another office visit charge for the follow-up for $ 120.00.

I only give the staff 1 star because of the fact that when you call you can never get through because the phone is busy, and when you finally do get through you are placed on hold forever. I have been trying to get through for an hour and finally did and have been on hold for 14 minutes and and i only need to find out what time my appointment is because this office does not call to confirm appointments . i work in the medical field in orthopedics as well and i know how a well run and efficient office runs. This is soo frustrating and i am considering changing doctors beacuse of the poor flow of this office. Dr. Elias really needs to hire more efficient and professional staff as his staff makes him and his practice look bad. i would probably not refer anyone i know to go there. i am still on hold 22 minutes later!!!!!

Dr. Elias did a total hip replacement for me. He gave me back my life. His surgical skills are 10+ and his surgery team is the best. I came out of recovery 100% better than when I went into surgery and NO PAIN. If you get a chance to be his patient.....run to his office. I recommend Dr. Elias highly and feel that I was really lucky to have him for my surgeon.

Dr. Elias performed arthroscopic knee surgery on me in 2010. It was a very successful surgery and I had little pain throughout my recovery. I would recommend Dr. Elias without hesitation.

Dr. Elias is excellent and I would see him again if I needed his services. He operated on my ankle which was broken on three different planes and inserted screws and plates, which I needed. After wearing a cast and going to physical therapy, my ankle became stronger than my non-broken ankle (according to my physical therapist). Unfortunately, he is a contract doctor at Lakewood Orthopaedic (562) 633-3787 and the staff does not report to him. The office staff could use more training in how to answer the phone, return patient calls, and follow up on the paperwork. Knowing this, I would still see Dr. Elias.
