I have an extreme fear of needles, to the point of having panic attacks when I know I have a procedure involving needles coming up. So when I was preparing for the birth of my third child, I knew I would need an epidural/spinal tap anesthesia for the c-section. Arriving at the hospital, I started to get a minor case of shakes as I became nervous. Before entering the OR, Dr. Wafai came into my preparation room and spoke with me about anything he could do to help make the procedure easier for me. After assuring me that he would take care of me and knowing our plan of action, I was taken to the OR to receive the anesthetic. Not only was Dr. Wafai quick and efficient, but it was the only time in three epidurals I have received that my back did not bruise at the injection site! This helped make both the procedure and the recovery time easier for me, so that I was better able to enjoy the life of my newborn. Thank you Dr. Wafai, you truly were the best! ~ Elisabeth Gray
