I am a Daily Surviving Domestic Violence Victum, Thanks to Dr. Shileds. I had no idea how bad the verbal & mental abuse I recd from my ex husband daily, hourly, etc was! He lived in my head present or not. My every action was geared upon him. , I'm visiting my parents with our children and one gets sick as we get in the car to go. It felt like this in my head " Ok if I'm late even a couple minutes he will be mad, but I can't help if our son is sick he has to understand. My parents fret they know his actions. I arrive at his work 10 min after the time he said to be there. 1 hr drive Not A Word from him ignores the 3 of us. He sleeps. Upon our arrival hes tired goes in 4 a nap. Alone again I get to unload car, kids,(1sick) etc. His quiet was a viscious device to weaken me. The DV cycle is orchestrated. Victums don't know what hit them. I meet w/ her for 6 mo. Then he came to 1 session after that, she knew where I stood. Helped w/ ck lists, reading ref, etc. She saved me!
