Dr. Shoku actually gave me hope when my hope was gone. I had an eye stroke two months ago and am blind in one eye except a small amount of peripheral vision at the top of the eye. I don't know how she did it but after working with different lenses for quite a time I was able to read a large eye chart. Her plan is to give me a small amount of the eye glass prescription now and increase the strength every three months so my brain can eventually accept the prescription . I have learned there are no guarantees where my blind eye is concerned but now I have hope. Dr. Shoku is dedicated to helping her patients and I'm so glad i'm one of them.

I have had a lot of red issues lately, as soon as I turned 45 , my near vision gone, my eyes are dry, cant wear my contacts more that couple of hours. List goes on. Dr. Shoku was recommended by my GP at UCLA. I got more than an eye exam out of my visit with her, Not only did she change my lenses to better ones but she also knew a lot about natural treatments of my dry eye issue and didn't jump on prescribing me a bunch of medication. I put me on some natural supplements and took the time to educate what was going on with my eyes and my age and that there was a solution. Over all, I got an eye exam and a natural medicine like consult with her. Pleased.

I'm rating all great since we had a wonderful experience with her. Dr. Shoku was referred to us by Dr.Steven Schwartz, after he saved my daughters eye. She had a terrible accident which has left one eye blind. However that eye started looking darker than the other green eye she has. She started the down hill spiral of insecurity with her image, gained a lot of weight and even battled eating disorder. Dr.Shoku fitted her with contact lenses that made both eyes the same color. You can't even tell the difference between the eye colors. My daughter is slowly healing. She can look at people in their eyes with confidence! I thank Dr. Shoku and Schwartz for helping us both.

I have been under the care of many eye specialist since two years ago when I had a detached retina. After multiple surgeries I still couldn't see out of that one eye. No one bothered to see if the eye could be corrected better than 20/200 (basically I couldn't see out of that eye. I was transferred to see Dr.Shokouh since my original doctor was not available. She was so nice and so kind and for first time someone took their time with my eye, she corrected me to 20/80!! That's amazing since I thought that eye was useless. So excited to see her in 6months to see if the eye got better.

I am just writing a review as even though my Retina specialist raved about this doctor, I decided to request before seeing her. I have had complicated eye surgeries and needed someone really good to do my follow ups and exams. I saw good reviews, and now I am adding in. Friendly, talkative and very approachable. She patiently listened to my.long history and symptoms and addressed every issue I had one by one. I felt comfortable since I knees reviews were good and she was highly recommended (I guess she takes care of complicated cases). It took two visits and she got me fitted with amazing natural prosthetic lenses. I am so happy with them I cried in chair today. Never thought it be this easy to fix my torn pupils. Her voice was soothing, reassuring and I am thankful for her keeping my spirits up through out this complicated fitting. It's not necessarily her knowledge that sets her apart, but her caring personality and chair side manner!

Just came back from my exam with this doctor and was so happy with the whole experience that i decided to write.I am 43 and have had issues with my reading for 6 months, headaches and more and was referred to her by a friend. I was looking for parking for a while and got lost so by the time I saw her I was in a bad mood. She was charming, sweet and did not give in to my bad mood. After 5 minutes in the exam we were both laughing. She made me feel calm, she was efficient, and the amazing thing is she not only found out what was wrong with my eyes but took the time to explain it in detail to me. I have my new bifocal contact lenses and glad to have found her.

I wasn't very happy with the staff, I guess its a busy practice and everyone seemed annoyed. However I was extremely pleased with my exam. I was apprehensive when I saw her since she seemed to be a bit too young, but once I started talking to her I feel in love. She really took her time to figure out whats going on with me. I have very complicated eyes and she was able to break it down for me and make me understand what is going on.I will drive back to see her again with pleasure. Highly recommend. Best Ophthalmologist I have seen in years

Never read any reviews on this doctor, my dad haf cataracg surgery at USC and had issues with his right eye, complaining that he sees double after surgery. Two doctors and three glasses later he lost hope thinking the surgery ruined his eyes. My husband though dad should see dr. shokouh since he has been very happy with her and his bifocal contact lenses. We finally saw Dr. Shokouh and so happy we did. She spent a long time with dad, mind you he is hard of hearing and has a thick accent but she took her time and listened to him and made him laugh. Never seen any one this patient. Its hard to find good doctors now adays.i knew my dad was happy when he asked her what kind of perfume she wears...he wants to buy her a gift to thank her!!!
