Dr. Rios is an amazing doctor. It took a few tries to find the perfect cardiologist for my son but he was well worth the search! He is so dedicated to the children he treats and it shows in the results of their care. He gave us multiple ways to contact him with any questions including an emergency number in case anything comes up. He visits our local hospital a few times a month but has told us that if my son should ever need him here he will fly up. My son’s blood thinners are finally under control because of his care too! I suggest anyone who needs a pediatric cardiologist visits with Dr. Rios. If he isn’t the right fit for your family, he can suggest others. Most specialized doctors will give you the names of a few others if you ask because they know that the fit isn’t always perfect. That’s how we found Dr. Rios. One of the reasons he is so great is because of the nurses on his staff. They don't travel with him but they take care of anything you need very quickly.

Knows his specialty well, he takes time to answer questions and encourages you to ask many so you understand exactly what is going on. He is very nice and communicates well with parents, children and others in his office to make appointments as productive as possible and he explains thing so they are easy to understand.

Answers emails usually within an hour, even on weekends. Emailed him a medication question on a Sunday night. I received a detailed answer within 30 minutes.
