I could not be happier to have chosen Dr. Thaler as my endocrinologist. He is extremely knowledgeable in his field. His office runs with the upmost, punctuality and efficiency. Dr. Thaler is always willing to answer all my questions and address all my concerns. I have been going to Dr. Thaler for several years and have never been disappointed in any visit and hope to continue going to him for many more years.

i have been a patient of dr thaler for a few years now. i have to say he is a very nice person and has good bedside manner, and did find a nodule in my thyroid that was lucklily benign but in terms of finding the root cause of my issues which developed out of no where, dr thaler had no interest in being a team player to work with functional medicine dr approach. I started working with another doctor who is trying to help me find underlying issues and root cause approach to my thyroid issues and suggested we do some further labs, Dr Thaler was NOT interested in checking any other labs but the basics and it became a multiple day argument and back and forth with the office to finally get him to see the light on why the other labs were important to me. also, after much research and speaking to many other doctors, i found out as a patient with Hashimotos there are things i can do to help. I spoke to dr thaler about it and asked about the gluten free diet for auto immune, especially hashimotos, and how its been proven to be a positive support to anyone with hashimotos and gluten does fuel hashimotos. Dr thaler told me there is no supplement, nothing in my diet, nothing i can do or change that would help. I told him i will work on other approaches to get healthier even if he doesnt believe they will work. Interestingly enough , on my next visit my numbers were better and my thyroid nodule had shrunk. unheard of in his eyes! with all this, i began to be very uncomfortable with the care i was getting and the overall feeling that Dr thaler is not open minded to supporting my health goals and i wanted to switch to Dr shapiro, his partner. the office told me because i am getting such good care with dr thaler ( NOT THEIR DECISION OR ASSESSMENT TO MAKE) they have a courtesy agreement and I cannot switch. This is beyond upsetting as i want to work with a practioner who wants to see me get better, and be able to collaborate with my functional medicine doctors, instead of getting defensive and angry with me for looking at alternative approaches. i have no choice but to leave the practice and find another doctor.

I have been on a lot of steroid since Covid in January. My pulmonologist was worried that my adrenals were being affected since I was having a lot of side effects. I was promptly given an appointment within days of calling. His staff was friendly, welcoming, and attentive. Dr. Thaler spent a lot of time explaining how adrenals and steroids interact, how I should taper my steroids to wake up my adrenals, what my blood work says that they conveniently drew there, and communicating with my other doctors. He was very reassuring and I left feeling empowered with knowledge. When I had more problems from steroids and my other doctors had no time available for me, his office fit me in very quickly and once again, he reviewed all details with me and reassured me I would be better soon. What he predicted was accurate. I feel very confident in his hands. He is very smart, patient, and kind. One cannot ask for more in a doctor.
