This is my personal observation: After being released by two other emergency room physicians at the Methodist Le Bonheur hospital for what was originally thought a simple kidney stone, Dr. Fong recognized the true severity of the affliction and admitted my wife, who later had successful surgery to remedy a large stone that was stuck in the ureter and would not pass. Her attention to detail, and willingness to listen to the patient, combined with her genuine desire to care for my wife is what prevented this from becoming a life threatening event. Thank you for your skill and recognizing the gravity of the situation and acting in a manner that saved my wife significant complications and pain (unlike your colleague immediately preceding your shift in the emergency room).
