Biography

Dr. Melissa Asgaonkar (a.k.a. “Dr. A”) is a friendly, knowledgeable and dedicated pediatrician who believes in personalized and consistent care that is easy, fast and convenient for patients and their families. “What we offer isn’t just personalized or quality pediatric care; it’s confidence that when your child isn’t feeling well or is injured, you can easily reach me. Through the relationship we have built, I know your child and their history.” Born and raised in the suburbs of Detroit, Michigan, Dr. A. graduated from Wayne State University, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. She went on to receive her medical degree from Wayne State University School of Medicine. After completing her pediatric residency at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation, Dr. A practiced in Louisville, Kentucky and South Bend, Indiana before relocating her family to North Texas in 2010. Dr. A is board certified by the American Board of Pediatrics, a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics, and recently completed her certification as an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC). She is excited to offer specialized services to new moms. Outside of medicine, Dr. A loves spending time with her husband, two children and the family dogs. She enjoys traveling, watching football, going to the movies, sewing and everything Disney.
