Bring a tape recorder to your IME, either he lies or he is in such a hurry the miscontrues facts to be against you and in the insurance companies favor. You can guess my assessment as to intent

Insurance company Dr. Spent 15 min. with me and decided that I didn't need back injections anymore for a herniated disk. My primary Dr. disagreed. Was in pain , but i guess money is more important than other peoples pain.

Unbelievably rude, dismissive & arrogant. Didn't want to address my concerns & offered only one choice (PT). Didn't even look at the area of concern. Walked out of the room when done without a word -- no goodbye, no "nice to meet you", no suggestion of follow-up, nothing...just walked out. Complete waste of time & money! Very disappointed!!!

The examination was at the request of the Hartford (AARP's insurance company). The examination itself was only minimally cursory-the paper on the examining table had not even been changed since former patient(s). He had in his hands a definitive diagnosis from a Mayo specialist who had served the most recent U. S. President. The Mayo examination was complete and the contributions of his team members first rate, though inconclusive. The malady is in the brain and difficult to see. The Mayo specialist recommended I return in two years. I already knew that the survival rate was two years. The surgeon I saw at Johns Hopkins was quick to tell me he could not assure me of even a diagnosis let alone a prognosis. I showed to him the same MRI's shown to Ronan. After calling them up on his laptop he immediately gave a definitive diagnosis. Fourteen painful years later I am still alive but no professionalism from Ronan. Ronan is an insurance doctor serving them not the patient.

I was very concerned after reading past reviews and wasn't sure I wanted to see this doctor. However, I found him to be on time, friendly, thorough and interested in helping me find a solution to my low back pain. I am not a worker's comp case, just an individual, referred to him by my family practitioner. He recommended PT, which I plan to do. I have nothing negative to say about him or his care.

I don't know what all the bad reviews are about. I had an appointment today with this Dr. and was extremely pleased. He was on time, very polite, listened, didn't do any unnecessary tests and told me what I wanted to know about my condition. Everyone at the office was polite. To think I almost didn't give this Dr. a chance because of all the negative reviews makes me feel guilty. My experience was EXCELLENT and I would recommend him to anyone.

This doctor is very unresponsive. I felt as if he never looked at my chart every time I saw him. I had to correct him on several occasions. He rarely did an exam and basically left it up to me to figure out what to do next. I had to insist on an MRI after multiple injections and a year to find out I had a very large herniation. His response time for calls and medications is very slow (sometimes 2-3 days for a call back). I would not recommend him.

Misdiagnosed. MRIs showed a Cynovial Cyst, which was clearly outlined in the Radiologist report. (I saw both films and report myself.) Doctor stated to me that he "didn't see anything to worry about." Sent me to Physical Therapy. I suffered bad pain and numbness for another year. Family doctor sent me to a Neurologist at my request, who saw a LARGE Synovial cyst and scheduled immediate surgery, which relieved the pain and numbness. I feel bad that I had to suffer that long with evidence of my condition clearly on films and supported by the Radiologist report.

I wish I had seen this site two years ago. My experience was similar to the other ratings. My primary care doctor finally convinced me to see someone for chronic back/muscle pain and referred me to Dr. Ronan. I believe he looked at my patient history and made a decision about me before he even walked in the room, at which time he announced I had quite a list of symptoms and what was it I wanted from him. After a very short exam existing of a few questions and some pin pricks, he announced he had no magic pill for me and maybe I should consider a therapist. His arrogance was appalling and treatment unprofessional. I would NEVER recommend him and make a point of letting everyone know this. After pursuing treatment with a naturopath where I received a very thorough evaluation and drug-free treatment, I am now relatively pain free!
