Saw him for ECT (electric shock therapy) and he started electric shock before I was under anesthesia. When I told him I was awake and felt it he said it was my imagination. Let students program the ECT machine unsupervised while I was connected to it. The whole experience caused such tremendous anxiety that I developed panic attacks. Now the sound of a buzzer or certain odors throw me into a panic. Told him I was being awakened by loud buzzing sound in my head at night. He ignored it and said it wasn't happening. lf a person does decide on ECT as a last effort to combat depression I would seek out another doctor to perform the procedure. He was late, rude, and ignored my concerns. I have talked with other patients of his and they all had the same experience and stopped the treatment before it was complete.

This man is rude and tried to force me to speak to him along with students. I advised him that I wasn’t comfortable with that he kept asking me why and I said because I wasn’t comfortable and he asked why again and I repeated because I wasn’t comfortable and I have my rights. If I don’t want students in the room when I speak to the doctor I don’t have to and they should leave. He then tells no and that the students aren’t going to leave. He also told me I can find another doctor. That man should not be working with patients. He fits the stereotype of the mean and scary psychiatrist movies that treats the patients as if they have no rights, no say and must do any and everything he demands otherwise you will be subjected to torture! This man should not be treating patients.

God Bless Dr. Mansour. We are in the beginning stages of dealing with my son's mental break down due to a concuscion. I feel safe and at ease with Dr. Mansour. He is not drugging my son to death and has eased him into a highier dose. He is not drug happy and realizes these things take time. I am very impressed with him so far. He seems to truely care. He returned everyone of my calls a week ago-5x in one day we talked, and he was off that day. He to me seems like a good man who cares and wants to help. God Bless Dr. Mansour. Kelly Seikel

This is the doctor for tough cases. No one could help me and I was in a catatonic state in the hospital for 3 weeks ... Dr Mansour saved my life and got me out of it. He is a bit eccentric, for sure, but has been able to KEEP me stable for two years since my hospital visit. If you have a little bit of depression, you can probably find someone easier to work with, but if you need a miracle, Dr. Mansour is the one to go to.

Dr. Mansour is wonderful. He has helped my son through a very difficult time. He is tough and non nonsense but sometimes that is required when working with mental health issues. My son was able to manipulate every single other therapist he has seen. Well he met his match in Dr. Mansour. He sees a lot of patients and can seem preoccupied at times but always seems to remember the important things. I seen a difference in my son within days of his scheduled appointments. Also, Akron General is a wonderful place. If I moved away, I would travel great distances to return .

Dr. Mansour was the singularly least competent mental health specialist I've ever visited. I might as well not have been in the room during my consultation. He had already diagnosed me before I walked in. I spoke with another mental health specialist afterward, who has advised me never to see this man again. He should be reported to the Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. If you say "green" he hears "black." If you say "I sleep 7 hours a night," he says, "so, you sleep 2 hours; you must be bipolar." If you say, "I drink one cup of coffee a day," he says "so, you drink a pot of coffee." He hears what he wants to hear, and I cannot think of a worse trait to have in his line of work. He really should just do consultations alone in the room so he can hear what great insight he pretends to have. This guy is a total quack.

Dr. Mansour is tough. Psychiatric/Psychological conditions require IMMENSE amounts of work, patience and follow through on behalf of the patient. Dr. Mansour tells it like it is. He is extremely knowledgeable of conditions and medications. He is so in-tune with his patients and their families... he constantly reads body language, facial expressions and relationship cues. If you aren't willing to WORK to get better, don't waste his time or your money. There is NO magic pill for mental illness and he knows this. He will tell you to your face what you have to do to get better, feel better and become psychologically healthy. He's blunt, he's harsh, he is honest ... but he's right 99% of the time. He SAVED MY HUSBAND'S LIFE -- and he can save yours ... but you have to be willing to hear what he has to say, even if it is hard to digest.

Terribly rude and unhelpful, especially for someone who deals with sensitive issues. He can barely speak English and doesn't seem to understand it very well-I had to repeat things several times to him. He directly insulted me and did not seem to care about me as a patient. He got confused between different medications that I mentioned as well. Would NOT recommend under any circumstances. Ask for someone else!
