This is the best doctor my family has ever encountered, not only is he knowledgable in his job, but also caring and very respectable and puts himself on the same level as the patient to create a very comfortable setting in a uncomfortable sitution. Our family can never thank him enough for the care he gave our son, this was the most intense time of our lives, yet with his confident attitude and caring he seemed to calm us all to where we could just look at him and know with this doctor our son would be fine. Thank you so much , GOD BLESS YOU!P.S. People like Dr.Moncrief is the reason your hospital is what it is.

After four attempts at the procedure we still have not seen any evidence that it has been effective and there was little if any communication between the doctor and my family. We would schedule times to be at the hospital to talk to him and he would not show up.

Nurse that made the appointments very rude and didn't call to tell me she needed more information before making the appointment. I called the office 3 times trying to find out when they would schedule my appointment and was given the run around. Finally after 2 months they called and scheduled an appointment. Went to the appointment and waited 2 1/2 hours to see the doctor. He finally came into the room I informed him that I had been waiting for 2 1/2 hours and he just said well thats a long time sorry. Professionalism was not there. I was pressed for time and had to be back to work at my second job 30 mins away at 5:00 and it was 4:15 before he even saw me. I was there for a second opinion. He looked at the MRI and report and agreed that there was bone spurs and restrictions pressing on the nerves but completely disagreed with the first doc and surgery he wanted to try therapy AGAIN. I do not trust what he is suggesting. How is therapy going to remove bone spurs? No answer?

I had back surgery in December of 2006. The surgery was a sucess, but I may have to have another. I was satisfied with Dr. Moncrief, but a member of his office staff was extremely rude.

Twice I went to this office and the dr wasn't even there. I got no phone call. Front staff is very rude. Saw the dr. one time..thought he was great. But if you can't get past his front desk and he isn't there when you have an appt, what good it that?

Diagnosed my problem quickly and proceeded to treatment that saved my life. He listened carefully and accurately to what I said. Previously I had been told the problem was "all in my head", Moncrief astutely noted that although it was literally true (hydrocephalus), it was not what the previous doctors had meant. He is very witty.

This is a very good neurosurgeon. He fixed my neck the first time. If you want your butt kissed then go else where. If you want your neck fixed go to this doctor. The best in Dayton, Ohio

Dr. Moncrief was more interested in the intern he was training, and the investment discussion on the telephone in the office (right in front of me), than he was in helping me with my problem. NOT recommended.
