I had an appointment today for a routine eye exam with Grace Anosike. She was first late half an hour. I was told that my insurance showed up as a pediatric insurance by the store manager which was strange, but that the doctor can help when she's finished. After half an hour of waiting, she walked over and told me that my insurance was pediatric. Given that I have used my current insurance for eye exams previously, I knew that wasn't the case. I asked if she could check again. She took my card to the back and within a minute came back and said the same thing, which was suspicious because checking insurances shouldn't be that fast. I asked the store manager, who said that he did not have authority to check medical insurances and that the doctor would need to do so. I found Grace Anosike again and asked if she could check, to which she tersely replied that she doesn't check insurances and pointed to the store manager. In the end, I was told that it was another person who checks insurances and they weren't available today, so I had no way of getting this eye exam unless I paid out-of-pocket. They told me that was why Target requires insurances to be fill out online prior to arrival (which I had done a month ago). All in all, wasted an hour of my life due to incompetency, will not recommend coming here again.

I had an appointment yesterday 2/2/23 at the EZ EYECARE inside Target 1341 Boylston St Boston with provider Grace Anosike.
To say I was treated less than human is an understatement. I have been purchasing contact lenses, glasses and eye exams from this location for some time, this being my first encounter w/Ms. Anosike. When I arrived, I was greeted by Katherine who is very kind and welcoming. I was asked to fill out a form and have a seat. While completing this form Ms. Anosike comes from her office. A gentleman had walked and just started asking about his previous Lasik eye surgery. Ms. Anosike answers all of his questions in front of me while I am now standing waiting for her. When the gentlemen leaves, she ONLY points to the chair next to her referencing me to sit down. NO hello, good afternoon, I am going to be doing your exam today. Only a point towards a chair. At this point I knew this interaction was going to be negative. After she quickly checks my eye she informs me "Follow me". I follow her into her office and have a seat in the optical chair. I have been having/wearing glasses eye exams since the age of 12, I am 42. I inform her that I brought my last 2 RXs with me for reference, 2020 and 2021. She says she does not need to see them. She checked my eyes w/in 5 minutes and began writing me an RX. She gave me the RX and it was less than my current RX. Concerned I asked her why, this was less and I was not going to be able to see properly. Historically eye exams are not long but she did not do a full exam on me. I informed her that she did not ask me if I could see the line, if the next level up was better or worse. When I called her out on this she opened the exam door and yelled "Katherine". Confused as I know Katherine is the optical tech at the front, was Katherine going to come in and finish my exam?? Ms. Anosike became combative when I continued to voice my concern w/this RX she just wrote was inaccurate. She then says "I will OK your old RX". I said yes but what is there are changes, you did not properly check. More to this story but after 5 min of the exam I paid and stepped out. Her next pt was a young woman of color. When Ms. Anosike came out to greet this young woman, she smiled and said How are you? I can't help but think her awful demeanor towards me was racially motivated. This provider gave me a false RX and did not do a full exam. She should not be treating any patients or providing any eye care to anyone. She did not do a dilation test, offer to do one, she did not change the lenses asking me if one was better than the other. ANY other eyecare clinician has always said this is what you are currently seeing in your RX is the next setup up or down worse or better? She did none of this in her 5min exam w/me. There is such a thing as a bad clinician, GRACE ANOSIKE is a bad clinician. I would never recommend EZ Eye Care at the Boylston St Location inside Fenway Target. I am also filing a complaint w/them directly. I also filed a complaint w/the BBB (better business bureau) as well my healthcare insurance carrier Harvard Pilgrim. Katherine the tech was extremely friendly and so helpful w/my process of ordering contacts, making sure they were in stock and understanding my concern re this visit. Katherine is extremely skilled in customer service and was a pleasure to work with!

Dr. Grace Anosike was incredibly helpful! She did a contact lense fitting for me at the last minute. I did have to wait a bit of a while (just under a half hour) but she was extremely efficient, let me know exactly what I needed to and took care at the same time!

A very negative experience. She quoted me a price and charged me a different price. The exam seemed very short, and she didn't respond well when I asked her questions. Would NOT recommend Grace Anosike!
