My son dislocated his ankle and broke his fibula, playing football. He was transported to Cox South ER, where he got the best treatment ever. The ER doctor was awesome. The ER doctor put my son's ankle back into place. The ER doctor kept telling my wife and I that he has been in contacted with the Trauma Orthopedics Surgeon on call, and he says he is satisfied with the x-rays. The ER doctor told my wife and I that he would like for our son the see Dr. Buck. Of course you hear all those negative things about doctors. We heard that Dr. Buck had very poor bed side manners, very arrogant, and struck on himself. "But comes highly recommended". I told my wife we don't know this doctor let's give him a chance. We called his office on Monday to make an appointment. they told my wife that they would call back before five and let use know when they could see our son. I received a call from Dr. Bucks staff, and they told me that Dr. Buck had looked over my son's x-rays and he wanted to see him on the next day "Tuesday". I said we will have him there.
Dr. Buck came into the exam room explain what he seen on the x-rays and he took a look at his leg and ankle. Dr. Buck explained to us that he felt that our son's swelling was gone down enough that he wanted to do surgery the next morning "Wednesday". My wife, my son and I just loved this guy, he explained everything in terms that you could understand and told my son that he would be able to play baseball this spring and football next year. What an awesome doctor. Not only is he awesome his whole stuff is awesome. I would highly recommend Dr. Buck.

Wonderful surgeon. Does a great job explaining everything that is going on. Follow up visits are terrible. It is near impossible to get some one to answer the phone to make an apt and you're always there waiting for nearly an hour after your scheduled apt.

Dr. Buck is very knowledgeable and caring. His work saved my daughters legs after being severely broken in a car accident. Can't say enough good things about him.

I severely broke my leg and was admitted to Cox and waited for a surgeon to put temporary rods in my leg. Dr Buck was suppose to be off but he did my surgery the next day. He explained everything. 1 week later I begged him to do the permanent surgery and he squeezed it in the next day before he needed to take off. The surgery took 5 hours. It was a very complicated surgery and a lot of hardware in my leg now. The leg is getting stronger and stronger and if it hadn't been for Dr Buck, I might have been crippled. Granted he isn't a chit chatter but tells me what I need to know and he is an unbelievable surgeon.

Dr. Buck fixed my husband's broken clavicle. He was very clear about what needed done and answered all of our questions completely and in a way we understood. He was very careful to ask my husband questions about his lifestyle to make sure the solution he suggested was the best fit for him. We were completely impressed with his attention to detail. I've seen several reviews complaining about his bedside manner. He is very direct, but he is also very caring. We were very thankful to have him. We would recommend him to anyone and would request him if we ever had the need.

My granddaughter was badly hurt in a car wreck and her pelvic was busted up pretty bad. Dr. Buck was her surgeon and he he did an excellent job. At our follow up appointment he answered all of our questions and was very helpful. I believe his skill and knowledge is why she is able to walk today.

Dr. Buck was assigned as my moms (79 years old) trauma surgeon when she broke her hip. We came to the hospital via ambulance early on July 5th, and Cox quickly determined her hip was broken and she would have surgery that day. We were then told Dr Buck was the only surgeon available that day so we took him. Then, we sat for 10 hours waiting. Finally at 6 pm, we were told that "someone" in his office had forgot to put my mom on the schedule. After telling the nurse mgr in ER we would be contacting DOI and Cox administration, we were amazingly put on the list and mom had surgery at 10:00pm that night. WHen I spoke to him, he was the most rude and arrogant doctor I have ever spoke to, spoke down to me and acted like we were idiots. My mom is a retired nurse and I have been in healthcare for 20 years. Since then, his office is completely chaos and hard to get ahold of and no return calls. DO NOT ACCEPT THIS DOCTOR IF YOU A HAVE ANY OTHER CHOICE!!!!
