I went for a second opinion and a review of my spine after surgery that failed to fuse my spinal c3-c5. I was at the appointment 30 mins early, and had to wait over an hour and a half to see Dr. Califf because of an emergency surgery correction.. ( that was understandable and excusable ) Brought all the necessary imagery for the last 2 years, and had all records and writeups sent prior to visit. I feel that he came in blind, I was asked questions about my hands and arm pain, tried to explain, and then was told it was carpal tunnel. I said to the pa ahead of time I was looking for a non-surgery method if possible. Completely dismissed that I am having multiple issues with the spine upper and lower and just wanted to test my hands. Out of a 15 min visit I got 3 mins of time to try to explain 25 years of problems and was dismissed because of my age and presentation. He came ill-prepared and was not willing to let the patient be a patient just a number in the system. Do not recommend him.

Dr Califf performed a very complicated operation on my spine very recently. I was most impressed by his technical knowledge and abilities. He was very empathetic with me and reacted quickly and correctly to my needs. I would actively seek him out to do any necessary surgery. Most highly recommended!
