This is gonna be tough for you to hear but what happened to me in early May of 2022 is gonna cost more than you would have ever fathomed. How do you diagnose a SC illness? For you, a knee tap should be fine and forget about ruling out a differential...who needs thoughs, right!? I had transverse myelitis and YOU delayed my diagnosis by over a month and the myelitis took over every vertebrae of EVERY section of my spine. If you had done your job, I would still have my life, my bladder function, a social life, a job and I would have been thriving. I still had my digestive system when I was at NYU and saw you but just 48 hours after your negligent discharge, I lost my bladder and gained spasms so severe that dislocated my shoulder and made it impossible to get a non motion degraded MRI when my parents got me as far away from this NYC medical system as possible. I had to get 4 rounds of 7k mg of steroids a week, as well as plasmathueresis through a neck catheter but the myelitis just kept returning because of how long you let me go untreated....I ended up needing to a 5th round of steroids but this time with chemotherapy. Did you know I was on medicaid at the time due to covid? So you did take my insurance but lets say you didn't at the time, you do know its illegal to poach a patient whose insurance "is subsidized by the state" I will share my story far and wide until you're completely uninsurable and unhireable. I have all the documentation to not only prove that you're absolutely inept and sinister with no regard for your patients....1st it's important to know that NYU ER is currently on Medical Probation, I was actually there while this investigation was taking place and later found out through the NYT that the most publicly funded (by our taxes) private hospitals in the Country had failed the probation for their absolutely EGREGIOUS treatment of patients some of who're no longer with us to tell their stories. Your ego tells you that a couple of knee taps is worthy of a diagnosis of something called Subacute Degerneration of the Spine, while I was admitted as critical patient with suspicion of Post Viral Guillan Barre.....For 19 hours I was in that FEMA set up tent of an ER placed in between two covid positive patients with Dementia who were fondling me, which the nurses found quite funny, as paralysis and ataxiaspread up my body by the hour. They did attempt 3 Spinal Taps without getting my spinal fluid and I was told a transport was going to be coming to get me for my MRI but I waited another 8 hours and at this point lost the ability to use my fingers so I couldn't text or call my family of doctors, who knew I needed an immediate MRI. All I could do is lay their in the pool of iodine from the three spinal tap kits and blood from my burst IV as I lost more more and more bodily functions. Then I see you, looking like you came straight from the meatpacking district in your ridiculous looking pointy 600 dollar ferragamo shoes. You were so gracious though to lie about the critical time spent and have me moved to observation area so that you could charge me out of pocket from the faculty group for your examination..If you think appropriate standard of care is reminding a declining 32 year old that you don't take my insurance but "You can come to my office for an MRI in two weeks for a MRI, but unfortunately you'll have to pay out of pocket". Now do you usually make up a patients history?you claimed I had "a long history of B12 deficiency " which did not exist while ignoring the co infection of step and mono that I had 3.5 weeks prior. You Dr B, ruined my life cause you needed an out of pocket patient. You cancelled my MRI because you're so egotistical and discharged me in worse shape than I came in but also WHILE MY B12 RESULTS were still pending. I fired my entire legal team because although every expert agreed, I know how crucial timing is, the ER is on probation. You're dangerous. I'll get the check but I needed to make sure you know, im willing to risk a couple million just so people are protected from you

Spare your frustration and find someone else. My neurologist of several years is leaving NYU. This guy was given to me as a replacement. I told him I am having an impossible time getting my records from the doctor who left and I asked if he could help. He never answered me and his response was he can give me another doctor. I asked what does that have to do with getting my records and I told him it took me five hours one way to get there to see him, so why is he bringing up seeing other doctors? Another thing I did not like is a neurologist needs to do examinations and this guy had on these extremely pointy shoes that would be worn at a night at a nightclub by John Trivolta in his younger years. They looked ridiculous, unprofessional and not practical for someone who needs to freely move around to do an examination. When vanity is more important do a doctor than caring for patients then that is a big turnoff to me. Spare yourself, find someone else who cares more about you than what what he should wear for the next high school dance.

Horrible. Dr Bhatt did NOT even take the time to understand my problems. He disregarded everything and didn't look at any information I brought. Said he cannot help me.

I can't imagineDr. Bhaat being unfriendly or indifferent. He was very friendly in my first appointment . He was very interested in my condition and explained every thing in plain English without being condescending.

Dr. Bhatt is incredibly professional and thorough. Demonstrated real interest in my problem and figuring out how to solve it. He is clear and realistic about what he can achieve and the prognosis for success. Above all, he was very responsive when I had any concern at all in between visits.
