As a healthcare professional, I was contacted by a friend who brought her father into the ER at Ridgeview. Her father fell at home, has a history of blood clots and had a lot of pain in his leg. Dr Sipprell was the attending ER physician. She called me crying because Dr Sipprell would not listen to her or the family on regards to the patients history of blood clots. My friend told me her dads leg was changing color as we speak. I told her you tell him to give your dad an ultrasound. At that time he was getting ready to discharge him. The family were all begging him to do it. She called me again and I told her demand an ultrasound. She said he got really pissed and finally did one. Low and behold he found a clot and became super nice and said sometimes we get really busy. If not for the persistence of the family , he would've lost his leg or his life. I would NOT recommend to be evaluated by Dr. Sipprell. Shame on you!!

I was recently seen in the ER by Dr. Sipprell for excruciating pain I interpreted as a kidney stone, due to my past experience with them. Instead of performing any actual treatment, Dr. Sipprell was dismissive of my symptoms and skeptical of my pain. Not only was he unhelpful in identifying the cause of my pain, he treated me as a drug seeker. Dr. Sipprell was incredibly condescending and judgmental. I would NEVER recommend him to any one I know, nor will I ever be seeing him again. [On a side note, the ER staff such as the treating nurses were incredibly helpful and understanding, and really made the awful experience less demoralizing; GREAT NURSES]
